Reborn, Reawakened, Rekindled novel Chapter 323

Bonnie was actually super sensitive. She could sense even the tiniest bit of attention that Neil gave me.

I pretended that I didn’t hear anything and just closed my eyes so I could relax.

Since I ignored her and she got no response from Neil, Bonnie couldn’t vent her anger. She just withdrew her gaze in frustration and deliberately flopped down heavily, making a loud noise.

This childish tantrum obviously didn’t catch Neil’s attention. The car was silent all the way; no one uttered a word.

By the time we got back to Rosemont, it was late at night. Neil dropped me off at Sapphire River Community first, then took Bonnie home.

“Ms. Finch, you’re back!” Hannah Morse was waiting for us. She rushed over to help me. “Did you get hurt anywhere? Is it bad?”

I chuckled. “I’m good; I just have a scratch on my back. Don’t worry about it. Your parents should be here soon. Go arrange a room for them to rest, okay?”

Hannah looked at the front gate. I knew she was dying to see her parents, but Bailey drove slower than Neil, so we had to wait a bit longer.

“Alright, Ms. Finch, I truly appreciate all you’ve done for us!” Hannah said gratefully as tears welled up in her eyes.

I felt a bit guilty. Truth be told, if I hadn’t deliberately approached Oscar after my rebirth, his life would probably be the same as it was during my past life. He would be living a peaceful life somewhere out of my sight.

After Hannah went to prepare the room, I waited alone at the door for a while since Faith was still in the car. I needed to take care of her feelings. My mom was already asleep, so I wasn’t worried about her saying anything to my mom.

About half an hour later, the car stopped outside the gate. I went out and saw Hannah’s parents and Faith getting out of the car. Everyone seemed a bit tired; road trips could be exhausting.

“Irene, where is Neil?” The first thing Faith did after getting out of the car was ask about Neil.

“He probably went to drop Bonnie off. Would you like Bailey to take you home first, or do you need some rest?” I asked politely.

Upon hearing that Neil had taken Bonnie home, Faith immediately showed her displeasure.

She glanced at my front door and hesitated for a moment, “Let Bailey take me home. I will come to visit your mother when she feels better.”

Faith actually relieved me. Perhaps she was also worried about making me uncomfortable, as I had previously politely declined her offer.

I didn’t insist. “Bailey, could you please take Faith home? After that you can go home and rest. You don’t need to come to work for the next couple of days.”

Bailey nodded, not saying much.

Faith got back in the car.

I looked at Hannah’s parents in the yard and said warmly, “Hannah is inside. Let’s go in. You can stay here for the next few days, and I’ll arrange a suitable place for you later.”

“Ms. Finch, you’ve done so much for us. Especially considering what happened at our house...” Henry Morse seemed quite embarrassed.

“Oscar and I were good friends. Now that he’s gone, I’ll take care of you guys for him.” I interrupted Henry because the more he said, the more upset I felt.
