All right, all right, the boy’s got his own plans. You don’t need to meddle.” Steven said, stepping in.

Even though he was eager to hold a grandchild too, he knew the couple wasn’t quite settled yet, and that made him hold back.

Agnes sat quietly for a moment, clearly torn. Even with all her frustration bubbling inside, she had to admit -Steven had a point. The young couple hadn’t established their careers. If they had a baby now, neither of them would have the time or energy to take care of the child. It just wasn’t practical.

So, in the end, Agnes gave in. All right. When it comes to having kids, I’ll respect your decision. I won’t push anymore.”

Hearing that, both Madelyn and Sebastian let out a breath of relief.

So, can the two of you at least start planning the wedding now?Agnes asked out of nowhere.

Just as the couple had started to relax, her words made their hearts jump again. Madelyn’s expression turned awkward instantly. This time, she truly didn’t know how to respond.

If it was about having kids, she could still find an excuse to push it back. But marriage? She had nothing solid to fall back on.

So she turned her head toward Sebastian, clearly signaling that it was his turn to say something.

Sebastian hadn’t expected that just one family meal would turn into an interrogation session with his grandmother. But he couldn’t bear to upset her, so he cleared his throat and said, Don’t worry, Grandma. We’ll take care of it as soon as we can.”

As soon as you can?Agnes repeated, clearly disappointed. Her whole demeanor dropped.

She sighed dramatically. Ah, yet another hopeless situation. If I’d known this would happen, I would’ve told Marsha to have more sons back then. Maybe by now, I’d be cuddling a grandbaby already.

Her tone was filled with such exaggerated sorrow, it was like listening to a little girl in an old tale, trying to sell matches on a snowy streethelpless, but oddly charming in the moment.

Everyone around the table burst into laughter.

Finally, dinner came to an end.

Rather than leaving right away, Madelyn and Sebastian sat and chatted for a while longer with Steven and Agnes before heading out, hand in hand.

Half an hour later, at Lockhart Villa, it had taken a while, but Madelyn finally made it home and exhaled deeply the second she stepped inside.

Thinking back on Agnes’s intense questioning, she felt completely drained. She finally understood why so many women felt pressure from home about getting married or having kids. That kind of pressure was real -and honestly, kind of terrifying.

After that. the two of them freshened ud.

Madelyn finally let out a weary breath. I don’t think I can just casually visit Grandma anymore. If she brings all that stuff up again, I won’t know what to say.

Sebastian let out a quiet chuckle. Don’t stress so much.

We’ll just have one kid,he added casually.

Right after saying that, he suddenly reached out, wrapped his large hand around Madelyn’s waist, and pulled her straight into his arms. In one smooth motion, he rolled over and pinned her beneath him.

Before Madelyn could even react, she found herself beneath Sebastian, completely caught off guard. W- What are you doing? Her voice trembled slightly, tight with nerves.

She already had a pretty good idea of what was about to happen. This wasn’t their first time, after allbut even so, she still felt nervous.

Sebastian laughed softly. What do you think I’m doing?

His voice was low and rough, but carried a warm and magnetic edge that sent a chill down her spine.

II don’t know-

Before she could finish, Sebastian leaned down and covered her mouth with his. His kisses were firm, slow, and deliberategentle, but filled with a kind of heat that made her heart race.

Soon, Madelyn found herself unable to resist the way his touches set her whole body ablaze. Her cheeks turned bright red from the heat and intimacy.

Does she even realize how irresistible she is?

With that delicate face of hers, she looked like someone just waiting to be scooped up and taken.

Eventually, Sebastian’s restraint broke. With practiced ease, he undressed her, and then started claiming her with full intensity. Madelyn gasped softly from the sensation, her body responding instinctively despite the slight pain. But in her heart, she felt a rush of warmth that made everything else fade.

In the past, she’d usually been the one making the first move, teasing Sebastian until he gave inand sometimes, she’d ended up getting burned. But that night was different. It was clear that this time, it was Sebastian who wanted her. He wanted to be close. He wanted her.

Even through the discomfort, a deep happiness welled up inside her.

And just like that, a night quietly passed.

The next morning, the golden winter sunlight filtered gently through the windows.

Madelyn woke slowly, feeling the lingering warmth of the night before. She noticed the empty space beside herSebastian had already left for work.

She couldn’t help but smile.

After getting out of bed, she freshened up, grabbed a quick breakfast, and then headed off to the office. Madelyn, you’re in a good mood today,Jillian said with a grin as soon as she saw her.
