KAIDEN STIRLING
“Freda… Freda wait!” I called after her as I watched her storm off with Francisco. I hated the whole of this. I hated having to do this to her, I hated having to make her kneel in front of her younger sister who was always disrespecting her. I hated having to make Francisco suffer watching his mother be humiliated.
“Freda,” I called again but the door slammed shut loudly, echoing through the room. I looked down at the floor in front of me, letting out a sigh. My hands clenched into fists and a feeling of defeat, pain and utter exhaustion hit me.
I felt like the worst person to walk the earth. I was horrible. I had chosen my position in the pack over my own mate. If there was anything worse than that, that would probably be murder. I hated myself. I hated the monster I was to myself, to my son, and worst of all, to my mate.
I looked over at Safiya and she had a look of anger in her eyes. “Tell them,” I said to her with an expressionless face. She glanced back at the members of the council that were now looking us expectantly. She gave them a small smile before she looked back at me with a frown and grabbed my hand.
She pulled me a few steps away from them and then crossed her hands as she stood in front of me. The only reason I followed her was because I was exhausted of this whole b*t. I **was exhausted with her b**t and if she tested me a little bit, if she pushed what was left of my patience, I would

lose it in front of the council members. I did not want that. So I followed her.
She was so controlling. So painfully toxic. It was so exhausting and yet I could do very little about it. She had me so wrapped up in the web of her selfish, twisted games and I could not come out. I was in too deep, and it was all as a result of my
foolishness. The sheer foolishness of not knowing what I truly wanted.
“What was that just now?” She asked. “What are you talking about? Aren’t you supposed to be fulfilling your end of the deal?” I went straight to the point.
“Why did you try calling her back?” The look of betrayal and anger in her eyes had me questioning both her humanity and her sanity. She was crazy. Far more crazy that I had ever thought. She was not concerned about the pain her sister was feeling, the shame, and the embarrassment. She was not concerned about how her nephew was being traumatized because of her.
All she wanted was to satisfy her insane selfishness and now she was trying to start a d**n argument with me. I did not know what was crazier. Her lack of common sense of her lack of basic human empathy.
F**g hell…
“That’s none of your business,” I said the words angrily. “Now do what you’re supposed to do or I’ll make you regret it,” I said the words angrily and watched her bristle with a mixture of fear and fury. “Are you threatening me right now?” She asked the question through clenched teeth.

“I’m not sure you want to find out,” I shook my head, looking
away from her. I could not stand to look at her anymore. It killed me. She was the worst thing that ever happened to me. I could not believe that I was ever infatuated with her. Hell, back then, I could have killed for her, died for her even.
It was when I was blissfully unaware of the fact that she was the bane of my existence.
She glared at me before taking a deep breath, lifting her chin. and turning away to head towards where the members of the council sat. They seemed very curious as to what had been whispering.
“Luna Safiya,” one of the council members called her name the way a person would touch a delicate flower. A**icking mother**ck**r. Everyone currently in this room made me want to f** gag my d**n guts out.
I listen to Safiya let out a gentle laugh. D**n, she really had no empathy in her. Absolutely none. How was she laughing after all that had happened here… Which also happened to be her fault?
“We will like to receive your testimony now, Luna,” I heard Gorden say in a business-like tone. I was glad for that. If her had kissed her a**, I was not sure I would not have launched across the room in my wolf form and slashed all of them to f**g pieces.
“He has never abused me before and he has never attempted it. Tprovoked him but he stopped himself from hitting me in time. I am sorry for all the trouble I have caused,” she said quietly and even though my back was turned to her, I knew that she was saying all of those things with a frown on her face.

The council had no choice but to believe her. Because it was the truth. “We believe you. You can report anything to us of this situation is to repeat itself. Your safety and your daughter’s is our greatest concern,” the a** licking council member said.
I turned around and looked at them, specifically Gorden. “Are we done here?” I asked coldly. Gorden let out a sigh. “I suppose we are. I just want to tell you to exercise a little more self-control over your emotions,” he said and I resisted the urge to snap at him.
“Screw that f**g s**t,” I bitterly muttered and stormed
towards the door. “Welcome back, Alpha,” one of the council members said and I bit my tongue hard so I would not tell him to go and f**k himself the way I wanted to.
I slammed the door behind me and left the room.
