Chapter 134
Chapter 134
“Jay” I said timidly.
“Yes beautiful” he responded.
“Where were you last night?” I asked him quietly, he looked over at looking slightly surprised.
“I’m sorry baby, I had an emergency meeting I had to go to and I didn’t want to wake you up, did you wake up while I wasn’t there?” he asked me kissing my hand, looking over at me waiting for an answer.
“Were you going to tell me about it?” I asked him curiously.
“I didn’t see any reason to, but I wasn’t hiding it from you. Would it make you feel better if I woke you up from now on, if I have to leave when you’re sleeping?” he asked me sounding concerned, I sighed in relief, feeling slightly guilty at the doubts I had. Jay was a good person, and I trusted him.
“No, I trust you” I responded giving him a smile.
We walked into the entrance of a fancy looking restaurant, Jay took me on dates that varied from sports games, to walks in the park to expensive restaurants. My attire for a date could range from sweats and a hoodie to a tight dress and heels.
“Collins” he said simply to the waiter, whose eyebrows shot up and he instantly started to fidget nervously. He led us to our table that was towards the back, we sat down and he poured glasses of wine and then seemed to be relieved to pass us off to another waitress.
“So I have a surprise for you” Jay stated after a few minutes, I glanced up at him, waiting patiently.
“that makes surprise number three for today” I responded taking a sip of wine. It was one of the sweeter wines, that still left a warm feeling in my stomach.
“Are you complaining?” he asked me, looking a little amused.
“I don’t like surprises” I reminded him.
“Fine, then I’ll try to limit myself to one a day” he said his eyebrows furrowing as he looking generally upset, I started to laugh. He reminded me of a four–year–old who just got sent to time out.
“You’re just so beautiful, and I love you it’s hard not to see something and not think of you, and want to spoil you” he said a certain hint of frustration coating his words, I giggled.
“So what is it?” I finally inquired, my curiosity getting the better of me.

Chapter 134
“Well, do you remember when we were talking the other night-” he began.
“Which night?” I asked trying to act interested in whatever this surprise was, he knew what I was doing so he didn’t answer, but just rolled his eyes. I leaned forward setting my head in my hands.
“And you told me that you wanted to finish school, but you never got to” I nodded slightly, it was true. I had been attending college when I got brought down for my sister’s wedding and never left due to the giant waste of the last few months.
“Well I called your college, and then I talked to the university that’s closest to here, which is a very good private one, and they checked your grades and said that if you wanted to attend the spring semester
which starts in a few weeks you’re more than welcome, and you’ll only have to go once or twice a week.”
I could feel the hysteria rising in my chest, and then I could feel my nose burning with the want to cry.
“You didn’t.” I finally said praying not to let any tears fall, I covered my face trying to breathe, the waiter came and then when he turned to me for food I just shook my head and said I didn’t want anything, finally he left.
“Did I do something wrong?” Jay asked me, searching my eyes. I shook my head.
“Private universities are expensive Jay…” I finally said, he stared at me and then actually started to laugh.
“Baby don’t worry about the money, that’s should be the last thing you’re worried about.” He said shaking his head and amused look plastered on his face now.
“Well, you know that I don’t like it when you buy things for-”
“Kendal.” He cut me off.
“Jay, you know I’m independent, I don’t like other people providing for-”
“Kendal.”
“Jay-”
