I loved the way Dez’s body felt against mine. “Kendal” he said and another shiver ran down my spine from the way my name fell from his lips. He reached behind and pried my fists from his shirt. 

“Let go” he told me lowly, I felt like I had been hit by a truck. He didn’t want me. I let go backing up, trying not to look as hurt as I felt. My wolf let out a low whimper. My chest clenched in pain, and I bit my lip dropping my eyes to the floor. How could I be so stupid? Why did I do that? 

He lifted my chin up with his finger, his eyes went from light golden brown, to dark brown with golden rings in a second when he saw my face. I saw Michael had appeared, and he was looking at me worriedly. Dez let out a loud intimidating growl and the man who hit me cowered, i even dropped my head in submission. 

“Michael” he growled “Take her” he said grabbing my arm handing me off to him rather roughly. 

“Uh, Come on Kendal” Michael said ushering me back in the office. I caught a glimpse of Dez who had taken the man by the shirt and was dragging him down the hallway. 

He made me sit down in one of the chair across from the desk. The alpha and my baby sitter had left already so Michael took the seat across from me. 

“You couldn’t stay out of trouble for 5 minutes?” he asked shaking his head. 

“Sorry” I said, he looked at me for a minute before throwing his head back and laughing. 

“I’m not mad, I just… I thought you would last longer than that” he told me. 

“What’s Dez going to do to him?” I asked, his face darkened. 

“You don’t need to worry about things like that Kendal” he told me. 

I stayed silent for a little while “Is he going to kill him?” I asked, he took in a deep breath. 

“I really wish you wouldn’t ask me these questions” Michael told me. 

“So yes” he didn’t reply. I thought for a little while and realized I hadn’t told anyone about the other man. 

“There was another man” I said. 

He sat forward ‘What?” 

“There was- there was 2 of them, one was named Derek, and the other one… I don’t know, I punched him 

in the face” I offered.

“okay we’ll get him” he told me, we just talked for the next few hours. 

“Alright Collins wants you home” Michael said standing up. 

“What?” 

“Just come on” he said shaking his head, I followed him back down the hallway and he walked out, we took a short walk of about 4 miles, and then a small house appeared. He took me inside flipping lights on as he went, this house smelled so good. There was a small homey living room with a couch and TV that lead into a kitchen they were separated by a bar, we sat down on the couch. 

“Collins should be here in a few mi-” he stopped as the door opened and Dez walked in closing the door 

behind him.
