I let out a low purr feeling the pain in my neck slowly and gradually fade with his touch, after a few minutes he probably came to the conclusion I wasn’t letting go any time soon so and wrapped his arms around me hesitantly, I was squeezing him as hard as I could but he gently wrapped his arms around me, almost as if he was afraid to break me. 

Now that I had him again I couldn’t imagine ever letting him go. Once I was in complete bliss for a while, i just enjoyed the contact of our skin and the body heat between us. 

“Are you going to let go” his annoyed voice broke through my happiness. I took in a deep breath, and let go taking a few steps back. It felt so wrong, I felt like I just murdered someone. 

‘Where the hell have you been?” I demanded angrily. Now that I had my strength back I was furious. I 

noticed a small bruise on his face, he raised an eyebrow at me. 

I slapped my hands over my mouth realized I had just yelled at Dezmond Collins. The Dezmond Collins. 

“I mean- I mean where have you been?” I said in a softer tone, even though I was still angry. 

“I didn’t know my presence was that important to you” he replied shortly, I raised an eyebrow. 

“It i-” I was cut off in mid–sentence by a loud knock at the door, a very irritated look crossed Dez’s features and he stalked out letting out a low growl. I stood there for a minute and then went to the living room hearing voices. I recognized one as my mate’s, the other was Michael. I went into the living room quietly and it automatically went silent. 

Dez turned to me after a little while. “Get dressed” he said shortly, I went to my room and pulled on some jeans and a hoodie and came back stepping into some army boots. Dez and I went to the pack house, I followed him to his office, the pack house seemed to be hectic, I could hear a lot of chatter, I was curious 

as to what was going on. 

Dez motioned to my normal chair and left with Michael leaving me in the hands of a few of my guards. I dozed off a little and woke up and got up and stretched, telling Brewer I was hungry. They opened the door motioning for me to go first, I trailed behind Atticus going down the hallway. 

A lot of familiar scents hit me and the most alarming one was my father. I breathed in more, and frowned. Why does someone have the same scent as my dad? We passed a doorway with a lot of people 

where the scent was coming from. 

I froze and completely stopped breathing. My throat tightened and my nose burned, my heart skipped a beat before starting a more erratic pace that pounded in my ears. 

My dad was there talking to my Uncle Ethan, my mother and sister at his side, along with the rest of the

Atticus gently ushered me back into the hallway, I numbly leaned against the wall, chewing on my lip. Black spots swam in my vision and I felt lightheaded, I realized it was because I hadn’t been breathing. I gasped in air and after a few breaths I realized Atticus and Brewer were both speaking to my urgently asking me if I was okay. I also registered another voice saying my name loudly. 

My father’s. 

I turned around seeing him being held back by my guards. 

“Kendal sweetheart its so great to see you” I was shocked by his tone of voice, he yells at me and kicks me out of his house and now its great to see me? I heard a loud growl from behind me and I was shoved out of the way and then pushed behind Dez’s back so hard the breath was knocked out of me. I clutched onto his arm pushing my waist behind me, but he shook my off and lunged.
