Sabrina dialed Nelson's number three times, but there was still no answer.
A sense of helplessness enveloped her. She rested her elbows on her knees and placed her forehead against her clasped hands, trying to calm her emotions.
After three years of marriage, she finally realized that Nelson could be quite difficult to deal with.
She sighed and asked the caregiver, Michelle Jones, to take care of Cheryl, who was asleep, while she went to find Nelson.
Her car smoothly entered Villa No. 6, Windermere Street.
As Sabrina entered the living room, she saw Nelson.
He was lounging on the beige couch. His face was stern with an unmistakable hint of aggression as if he had been waiting for a long time.
Sabrina noticed his phone was within reach. "Why didn't you answer the phone?"
He glanced at her indifferently and smiled. "Why didn't you reply to my messages?"
Sabrina was speechless. He was holding a grudge.
"How can I get back the brooch?" Sabrina asked, forsaking her dignity, as she had already stooped to come here.
When Nelson heard that, he leaned back while studying her with his hand behind his head. He looked quite pleased.
Dealing with intelligent people was so easy. He didn't need to say anything, and she immediately understood his intention.
But he wondered what she had just done. Her makeup was so smudged that the mole on her face wasn't concealed, and her face was so pale that it was almost transparent. She looked quite pitiful.
"Make me happy first, then we'll talk."
Sabrina stared at him for a moment. "How... do you want to be made happy?"
