Mayra was reminded of a painful memory when she saw her former classmates, especially Emily. Emily was Gordon’s wife in her past life. 

She had sacrificed her own life to save Gordon’s child, which was always a sore spot for Mayra. 

Mayra said, “Gordon, let’s go.” 

“Okay.” 

Mayra held Gordon’s hand in front of Emily, seeking a sense of security. She knew Emily was watching them. 

As they reached the exit, Mayra heard someone inside saying, “No way. Mayra is still with Gordon even after transferring? Didn’t she look down on him before?” 

“Who cares? I’m not interested in Gordon anyway.” 

While waiting for the elevator, Mayra let go of Gordon’s hand. Gordon, you should go home. Someone will pick me up soon.”

Gordon took out a strawberry keychain from his pocket. “See you.” 

“Okay. See you.” 

Mayra accepted the keychain. She looked down at the item in her hand while watching Gordon leave. Gordon guessed that she already knew about Anderson contacting him. 

Mayra thought, “It’s alright, Gordon. We still have plenty of time.” 

This time, Mayra only wanted to be with Gordon! 

It was already 8:15 pm. 

The driver went into the mall to find Mayra when he realized that she hadn’t come out yet. As soon as he went in, he saw her coming out 

with several shopping bags. 

In Candor City, at 8:10 pm, Anderson was on his way back to the hotel after his meeting when he received a notification of a bank 

transaction. 

The spending amount was around three million dollars. 

He glanced at his phone and then closed his eyes to rest. 

Shane expressed his concern while watching through the rearview mirror. “Mr. Barlow, perhaps we should go to the hospital. Taking painkillers continuously is bad for your health.” 

Anderson replied, “Let’s go back to the hotel first.” 

At the hotel, the lobby manager handed Anderson the key card to the presidential suite with a smile. 

Shane, who was still worried, followed him to the hotel room. 

“Mr. Barlow, please call me anytime if you feel unwell.” 

Anderson’s headache had become more frequent recently, though it was unclear when it started. 

Staring at the closed door, Shane remained deep in thought. 

At this moment, Mayra arrived at the Barlow mansion. Her legs had gone weak. As soon as she stepped out of the car, she vomited. 

A maid quickly came out to help her. “Ms. Sadler, come inside and have some water. You should rest for a bit.”
