“N–Nothing.” Mayis pretended to remain calm. She couldn’t at any flaws at a moment like this. She understood Anderson as well as he understood her ” Andy, I need to use the restroom. Can you come with me?” 

The nurse neatby stepped forward. “Mr. Barlow, shall I assist her instead?” 

After all, Anderson couldn’t enter the women’s restroom. 

Yet Anderson didn’t respond. He naturally wrapped his arm around Mayra’s slender waist to support her and held her hand with the other hand, “Why is your hand so sweaty?” 

“I–It’s hot,” Mayra said. She felt uncomfortable with his hand around her waist, but she couldn’t avoid it 

She hoped Anderson wouldn’t notice Gordon’s presence, 

The restroom was just around the corner Anderson waited outside while Mayra leaned against the wall as she entered slowly. Feeling uneasy, she turned around. “Don’t leave, Andy. I’ll be quick.” 

Anderson agreed and took out a pack of cigarettes from his pocket before heading to the smoking area. 

A passing woman wearing branded clothing and holding a medical record in her hand saw a well–dressed man standing by the window, smoking. With dubious intentions, she approached. “Excuse me, sir, can you tell me where the exit is? I’m lost,” 

Car keys weren’t the only indicator of a man’s wealth. His watch could also speak volumes. The watch on Anderson’s wrist was worth at least tens of millions, and it was a limited edition. 

Noticing that he didn’t respond, the woman became bolder. “What’s wrong, sir? Are you here alone? Don’t you have anyone with you?” 

Her nails were painted red, and her attire was seductive. Before her hand could touch Anderson’s shoulder, she was repelled by the lit cigarette. 

She screamed, “My hand!” 

“Get lost,” Anderson said. 

The woman wanted to curse at him when she heard his response but stopped when she saw his cold eyes. She was instantly startled

After all, there were few people in all of Belchester who could afford to wear such a watch. But she couldn’t rule out the possibility that he was merely pretending to be rich.

Mayra quickly finished using the restroom and overheard the conversation. Realizing the cold and intimidating air around Anderson, she felt a bit afraid. She rarely saw him in such a state

However, upon hearing someone criticize Anderson, Mayra retorted on his behalf, “You’re the one who’s being rude here.” 

“Who the hell are you? This has nothing to do with you.” 

Mayra chuckled. “He’s my brother. Of course, it has something to do with me, Madam, you’re quite old. How could you still have the nerve to hit on a man? My sister–in–law is much prettier than you” 

“You… Just you wait.” The woman left in a huff. 

“Oh my, I’m so scared.” 

Anderson looked at Mayra, who stood up for him. Seeing that she looked pleased that she had won the argument, he smiled as he extinguished the cigarette in his hand. 

“Your skill at insulting people has improved lately.”
