Chapter 60

Gordon looked at the message that he had just received, but he did not reply. The cold look in his eyes reflected the glow of his phone, but he put it down in the end.

Mayra held her phone tightly and waited for the entire night, but Gordon did not reply to her.

She slept through the whole night.

When Mayra heard the sound of someone knocking on her door, she woke up. The maid walked in. “Ms. Sadler, it’s time to wake up for breakfast.”

Anderson was putting on his watch as he walked out of his room. “It’s alright. Let her sleep for a while longer.”

“Are you ready, Andy? We should leave now.”

Mayra rubbed her eyes and sat up in bed.

She was wearing a soft pink lace nightdress, and there was a thin blanket covering her slightly, exposing her long legs. “Where are you going, Andy?”

Anderson walked in, followed by Isabel.

Isabel’s skin looked as smooth and creamy as silk that day, and she wore a tight–fitting red bodycon dress. Her long hair was twisted into a bun. She looked very elegant, as befitted the mistress of the house. Everything she did was captivating.

She walked over to Anderson and smiled as she took his arm. The huge ring twinkled on her finger.

“Andy and I are going to take our engagement photos today. We wanted to take you with us, but we were afraid that you’d get bored at the studio, so we decided to let you stay home and wait for us to come back.

Mayra squinted lazily and nodded. “Alright. I’ll stay home. Get back soon.”

Anderson looked intently at the woman on the bed. His eyes were dark and unreadable.

Mayra sat on the bed and waited for them to leave the room. They closed the door behind them, and sounds drifted to her through the open window. She was fully awake by this time.

She got dressed and went downstairs, only to see the maids cleaning up the untouched breakfast on the table.

Mayra did not say anything and watched them silently.
