Revenge is Best Served After Reborn (James) novel Chapter 1927

This novel has officially wrapped up today. A heartfelt thank you to everyone who supported this book on its journey.

Writing this novel was a year-long adventure, and I often found myself torn about whether to stick with the ending I initially envisioned.

Before the big finale, I had planned for a tragic conclusion.

Here's a glimpse of the original tragic ending. Take it lightly, and feel free to skip if you'd rather not dive into it.

In the original ending: Gordon, weakened from his rebirth, gradually fell into ill health and passed away. Jenna was kidnapped, and both she and Adler met their demise at Wesley's hands.

Colby, Griffin, and Odie took a stand against The Silent Shadows. With reinforcements nowhere in sight, Griffin and Odie carved out a bloody escape for Colby.

In their sacrifice, Griffin and Odie lost their lives.

In a pivotal moment, James laid down his life, granting Colby precious time.

Colby faced Reece alone but was overwhelmed by sheer numbers.

When Sophie arrived, Colby was barely hanging on, unable to say a word to her.

The reinforcements finally subdued the remaining members of The Silent Shadows. Driven by grief, Sophie picked up Colby's knife and lunged at Reece, indifferent to her own safety.

Even though Sophie was no match for Reece, there was still a flicker of compassion in Reece's heart for her.

As Wesley aimed to shoot Sophie, Reece instinctively shielded her from the bullet.

In the aftermath of losing her friends and love, Sophie assassinated Wesley.

Crushed by sorrow, she remembered Gordon's parting words: "The road ahead is yours alone, but don’t be afraid; I'll always be with you."

Simultaneously, memories of Gordon's teachings, Colby's combat lessons, and joyful times with friends like Adler and Jenna flooded her mind.

In the end, Sophie struck down Wesley but collapsed from exhaustion.

When she came to, Sophie thought it had all been a nightmare, only to face the harsh truth.
