Chapter 54 Supplements
Tcouldn’t hold back and slapped Jack across the face.
Elsa jumped in shock and screamed, “Jane, have you gone mad? How could you hit Jack?”
Jack’s head tilted, and a bright red handprint appeared on his cheek. He looked up at me with obvious displeasure. “Jane, how dare you hit me?”
1 raised my chin. “What’s wrong with hirting you? You humiliated me first, I only slapped you once. What’s the problem with that?”
I had to admit what Jack said this time was much worse than anything he had said in the past. We were a family, but he told me to go back and serve that bastard, Jeremiah.
This wasn’t my brother anymore–he was clearly an enemy who wished for my downfall
Elsa was nervously checking Jack’s injury while looking at me in fear. “Jane, you’ve really lost it. We came to advise you with good intentions, and this is how you treat us? Do you even consider us your family?”
Family? They were the ones who made me miserable in my past life.
I coldly looked at them. “I have important matters to attend to. You’d better leave quickly and stop disturbing me!”
With that, I turned to leave.
I thought I would finally have some peace, but that evening, my parents suddenly showed up. “Jane, no matter how much you and Jack argue, you shouldn’t have resorted to violence! Also, about your business plans, your father and I have discussed it. Maybe it’s better if you drop the idea?” Mom held my hand, trying to persuade me. “You don’t understand the current market situation. If you act impulsively, you might end up losing everything”
Dad nodded in agreement. “We’re not worried about the money, but if you end up seriously discouraged, it might break you. It would be better not to start at all ”
I knew they were worried about me, but they didn’t fully understand my capabilities. “Mom, Dad, don’t worry. I’ve already done market research, and with help from people with experience, everything will be fine. I hope you’ll trust me and give me a chance to prove myself!”
