Rewriting My Fate (Eliza) novel Chapter 10

"You've all been duped by her!" the housekeeper shouted, shaking her head.

"Sir, Madam, every time you couldn't sleep or had a headache, the aromatherapy was made by M. Eliza herself.Mr. Margot just took the credit.

"And, Mr. Evan, remember the earthquake years ago? It was Ms. Eliza who braved the danger to pull you out of the rubble, not Ms. Margot, who claimed it was her.

"And that time in the garden, the one actually dancing was Ms. Eliza, but Ms. Margot took the credit in front of Aiden, leading you astray."

Her words were like grenades going off in the hospital room.

The Newell family and Aiden just stood there, shell-shocked and full of regret. Who would've thought the truth was this brutal?

Margot's face went ghostly pale. She glared at the housekeeper, her voice cracking as she screamed, "You old liar! What are you talking about? I did those things, not her!"

The housekeeper gave a bitter smile. "Deep down, you know what's true. Ms. Eliza never got much love—not from her parents, her brother, or even her fiancé. But we, the staff, saw how she treated everyone with kindness."

"Once, I asked why she never told the truth, and she said, 'What good would it do? No one would believe me. Everyone loves Margot, and no one loves me.' She even wished sometimes she'd never been born."

Those words nearly floored the Newell family and Aiden.

Margot couldn't take it anymore. She jumped up, pointing at the housekeeper, shouting, "You bitch! How dare you twist the truth! Eliza must have paid you to lie!"

The housekeeper chuckled softly, unfazed. "Your allowance is a hundred grand a month, while Ms. Eliza only gets six hundred. Where would she get the money to bribe me? I've been with the Newells for so long, I can't stand seeing Ms. Eliza treated so unfairly."

The family and Aiden were even more stunned by her words.

Aiden's voice shook as he asked, "You only give her six hundred a month?!"

Greg and Thea exchanged guilty glances, their voices trembling. "We... we didn't give her a regular allowance. Just a few hundred here and there when we remembered her."
