Rewriting My Fate (Eliza) novel Chapter 11

The assistant didn't waste a second and got right on the investigation. Before long, a thorough report was in Aiden's hands. It not only backed up everything the nanny had said but also revealed more of Margot's dirty deeds. As Aiden flipped through the pages, his hands shook with rage.

He passed the report to the Newell family. Greg, Thea, and Evan were left pale and stunned. They discovered that Margot had been stealing credit for all of Eliza's achievements. During their school years, Margot had orchestrated relentless bullying against Eliza. No wonder they often saw Eliza coming home bruised and battered. Instead of offering comfort, they chastised her, claiming she couldn't hold a candle to her sister.

Margot even went so far as to set up a group of vagrants to assault Eliza. If Eliza hadn't been quick on her feet, it could have ended much worse. The worst part? The burglar who broke into their home was also Margot's doing, all to see Eliza dead.

"Unbelievable! This can't be happening!" Greg and Thea exclaimed, struggling to comprehend how their seemingly sweet daughter could do something so monstrous. Evan was consumed with regret, his eyes blazing with anger as he turned to Margot, "Margot, she's your sister. How could you stoop so low?"

Realizing there was no turning back, Margot dropped her facade and laughed hysterically, "Yes, I did it all! So what? I wanted Eliza out of the picture. I wanted everything!

“You all promised to love only me, to have just one daughter, one sister. Why did you even have Eliza? Well, you did, and she was supposed to donate blood to me. Why did she have to earn your love and do so much for you? Didn't that make me look like a lousy sister?

“And Aiden, I had my eyes on him first. Why, oh why, did Eliza have to be the first person he saw when he came back? Why was she dancing in the garden that day, making Aiden fall for her instantly and start asking about her? How could I let the guy I liked fall for someone else? Of course, I had to take her place."

Her chilling laughter echoed through the hospital room. The Newell family and Aiden watched her with disdain, like she was a monster from the depths of hell.
