Rich Radiant and Over Him (Alicia and Vincent) novel Chapter 101

"Me, scare her? You're the one dragging those filthy rats from the gutter into our house—now that's frightening!" Yvonne didn't spare the old man a shred of respect. Pointing straight at Brandon, Jade, and her mother, she let loose. "A bastard dragging in two sewer rats. Have you got no shame? And you all changed your last name to White? Honestly, do you even hear yourselves? You think that makes you one of the Whites?"

"I've seen shameless people before, but you three take it to a whole new level."

Yvonne's presence was overwhelming—her energy downright unhinged. Brandon was shaking with anger, but he couldn't come up with a single retort.

That's when Maddox showed up. The moment he spotted Yvonne, he tried to turn on his heel and get out of there.

There were only four major families in Harboridge City, and though the Harrisons had fallen from grace, Yvonne was infamous for her unpredictability. The other old-money types dreaded her most of all.

"Where are you running off to? The Lynches aren't off the hook either," Yvonne called, jabbing a finger at Maddox. "Hah! If you lot hadn't stirred the pot, you think Reginald would've welcomed this nest of rats into the family?"

Jade gritted her teeth and tried to speak, "Mrs. Harrison, I'd appreciate it if you—"

"Ugh, shut up! Disgusting, disgusting, disgusting!" Yvonne shrieked right on the spot. She'd started out as a pop singer, and her voice pierced the air like a siren—shriller than a fire alarm. "Don't talk to me! The sound of your voice makes me want to throw up—ahhh!"

Jade's eyes rimmed red with fury. "You're absolutely insane!"

"That's right, I am crazy! My sister died in your White family's house, and I lost my mind! Let me tell you, you little viper, you rodent—Nicole's back. If you so much as think about pulling any of your dirty tricks, I'll skin you alive. I'll rip your tendons out and drink your blood!"

Yvonne lunged at Jade, ready to grab a fistful of hair, and Jade shrieked, scrambling behind Brandon for cover.

Neither Maddox nor Reginald dared intervene—there was no stopping Yvonne. The moment anyone tried, she'd just go even wilder.

Maddox muttered under his breath, "Who the hell invited her?"

Reginald clutched his forehead. "Don't look at me. I have no idea."

Alicia stood frozen, watching the whole spectacle in disbelief. This was the "entertainment" Tyrone had promised?
