He never should have let Alicia deliver his clothes to the club that day. If she hadn’t run into Tyrone, maybe Tyrone never would have crossed paths with her at all.
But now, it was far too late for regrets.
He never expected that the little bunny he’d raised would suddenly turn rebellious and run off to someone else’s home.
…
Vincent’s House.
Mina had called her assistant and her lawyer, and only after they both arrived did they manage to leave the scene in a panic.
But instead of going home, she rushed to Vincent’s villa, heart pounding with anxiety.
Right now, she needed Vincent’s help to tamp down the online rumors swirling around her. Social media was flooded with nasty headlines and speculation about her.
“Vincent…” Mina called out to him, her voice echoing in the empty house.
No answer.
She slumped onto the sofa and dialed his number. It rang and rang, but Vincent refused to pick up.
Her gaze landed on a familiar gift bag on the coffee table—the same one with the logo from the jewelry store she’d visited days ago. Curiosity flickered. She peeked inside and found two exquisite jewelry boxes. Inside were a ring and a bracelet, both sparkling and new.
Her heart leapt. Was Vincent planning to surprise her?
Mina slipped the ring onto her left ring finger, testing the fit—then her excitement turned to dread.
The band was tiny. It wouldn’t go on, not even halfway.
Obviously, this ring wasn’t meant for her.
A wave of panic crashed over her. In an instant, she lost control, hurling the ring and the boxes to the floor. She began smashing anything within reach, her fear mounting with every broken lamp and shattered vase.
Vincent wouldn’t… No. He couldn’t possibly be planning to give that ring to Alicia, could he?
He wanted to marry Alicia?
That was insane. Vincent had lost his mind.
Hands shaking, Mina grabbed her phone and called Jade. “Today was the graduation ceremony—why was Tyrone there? Didn’t Serena already go back home?”
“You think being someone’s sweetheart makes you invincible? Weren’t you Vincent’s darling, too? But I’d say he’s paying a lot more attention to Alicia these days,” Jade teased.
