Tyrone had told her he was taking her out on a date.

He helped her put together the perfect beach ensemble: a white-and-pink sundress, a pair of woven sandals that could handle the sand and sea, and a wide-brimmed straw hat that was both stylish and practical for sun protection.
He even handed her a dainty little purse with a gold chain—just big enough for her makeup essentials.
She had to admit, this outfit really was perfect for a day at the beach.
Feeling delighted, Alicia slipped into the dress and spun in front of the mirror. The hem fluttered, light and airy, making her feel floaty—almost magical.
She paused for a moment, catching sight of her own smile in the mirror.
She’d always been a cheerful person, but in her twenty-something years, moments of this kind of pure, unrestrained happiness were rare.
But with Tyrone, it felt like she could finally let go, laugh out loud, and not worry about a thing.
“Do you like it?” Tyrone stepped closer, fastening a delicate necklace around her neck—a fine silver chain with a single, luminous white pearl.
So simple, but it made her features look even more refined.
Tyrone stood behind her, wrapping his arms gently around her waist as they both looked into the mirror at her reflection.
