Because Tyrone wanted to stay ahead of any trouble, he ended up spending more time in Harboridge City than planned.

Alicia stayed by his side, and Tyrone was willing to introduce her to the people he trusted most.

Marcus, on the other hand, took Valery back to Seaview City ahead of schedule, plotting how best to persuade Easton.

Easton was still working at the coffee shop, and by the time his shift ended, night had already fallen.

“Easton, listen… We visited your grandfather this time. He’s getting on in years and really wants to see you,” Valery tried to play the family card.

Easton glanced at her, clearly annoyed. “Grandpa’s not short of grandkids. Wasn’t Tyrone the one he raised? What does he want with me?”

Valery’s patience snapped. “Don’t talk like that. He’s still your grandfather. His health isn’t what it used to be, and all he wants is to see you. Is that so much to ask?”

Easton looked back at her, his jaw set. “Mom, I’ll go if you want, but let me make one thing clear: if you’re hoping I’ll fight for the Lynch family’s fortune, I’m not interested.”

Valery opened her mouth to argue, but Marcus cut her off. “Alright, we get it. You’ve got your principles. We’re not forcing you. Family isn’t about money. Just go see your grandfather and let him feel you still belong.”

Easton eyed Marcus warily. “So you really don’t care about the inheritance? And as for all that ‘belonging’ stuff—come on, I know my own last name.”

Marcus let out a frustrated sigh and shot Valery a glare.

Valery rushed to smooth things over. “No one’s forcing you. Even if we tried, what good would it do? Everything in that house already belongs to Tyrone anyway. Do you think you could just take it from him?”

Easton nodded. “Glad you see it that way, Mom.”

Valery fell silent and started walking with Easton, heading back the way they’d come.
