Chapter 21 Farewell
“Damn, she’s actually caught up!”
Marcus‘ interest was piqued. Determined to demonstrate his superiority on the track, he accelerated fiercely, taking several sharp corners in quick succession.
Despite his efforts, he was stunned to see Maren’s vehicle gaining on him, evident in his rearview mirror.
“Shit!” Marcus cursed under his breath.
Regaining his composure, he looked at Maren’s approaching car with a scornful laugh. “Such a shame, you’re quite fetching.
I had thought we might celebrate together after the race, but it seems you’re intent on a swifter conclusion.”
He decided not to hold back and got serious.
Marcus slowed his pace intentionally as he approached the crucial curve of the race.
At this perfect point for overtaking, he plotted a simple but deadly trap–if Maren attempted to pass him, he’d accelerate
suddenly, ramming her vehicle off the cliff into the abyss below.
He felt secure in his plan, aware that the race’s last leg lacked surveillance, a tactic by the organizers to keep the final results mysterious until a car crossed the finish line.
Spectators gathered at the finish line, their anticipation was evident as they awaited the race’s climax.
The vehicles sped towards the curve. Marcus had let up on the accelerator, but in his rearview mirror, he saw Maren still pushing her car to its limits, aiming to overtake him on the bend.
Marcus‘ lips curled into a malicious smile as he watched her approach. “Yes, that’s it. Go faster!”
Abruptly, his smug anticipation turned to alarm. He had been poised to force her off the road as she passed, but instead of
sticking to the track, her car was hurtling straight towards him.
“Stop, just stop!” Marcus screamed in desperation. He noticed the cliff rapidly approaching and frantically hit the
accelerator, trying to escape, but it was futile.
Maren’s vehicle slammed into the back of his car with a deafening crash.
Marcus‘ car shot forward, speeding straight toward the cliff’s edge without slowing down for even a second.
No matter how hard he jammed on the brakes, they were ineffective against the relentless push.
He realized the woman intended to end his life.
In a panic, Marcus unbuckled his seatbelt, preparing to leap from the car. However, another brutal hit from Maren’s vehicle
sent him reeling within the confined space.
The horrifying screech of tires skidding against the pavement filled the air, signaling impending doom.
Overwhelmed by fear, Marcus shouted for mercy. “Spare me! Please, I’ll give you anything you want!”

Chapter 21 Farewell
“You’re offering me everything, but can you hand over your life?” Maren rolled down her window, her expression as cold
as ice.
“What?” Marcus’s mind raced as he froze in shock. This was his first visit to Baimsa, and he couldn’t fathom having
enemies here already.
