Chapter 302 Mr. Williams
From Maren’s voice, Sawyer picked up on her urgency Under ordinary conditions, she would never have furned
to him for help
Only after accessing the Ble she’d forwarded did the full picture become clear
Sawyer had a strong grasp of who Stormclaw was. As Maren’s loyal right hand, Stormclaw often shadowed her during operations Naturally, Sawyer knew him well.
“Yes, Mr. Warren. However, our manpower is currently focused on Beratia. With minimal assets available here, tracking someone won’t be quick,” Zane remarked after examining the case.
“Can it be done in a day?”
Maren had never reached out to him like this before, and Sawyer wasn’t about to disappoint her now.
There was something about being her anchor that he didn’t mind at all.
“Should be doable,” Zane answered after thinking it through.
“Proceed,” Sawyer instructed firmly.
Right away,” Zane acknowledged, then exited to begin the search.
Back in her quarters, Maren lay restlessly, unable to find peace. The upcomi
to her at that moment.
Cutest meant nothing
She fired up her device and began messaging old contacts–like Blue Falcon–hop they could assist in the
hunt for Stormclaw.
Even so, the unease clung to her.
Years earlier, during the Sovereign Underworld uprising, Stormclaw had barely escaped with his life. And it was Maren who brought him back to the underworld. Should tragedy strike now, the weight would be hers to bear.
In Stormclaw’s absence, Isla had been entrusted to Gregory and Olivia’s supervision at the school.
The now–empty residence only heightened Maren’s nerves. But there was nothing more to do–except rest, and await Sawyer’s report, so she could be ready to act when the time came.
Morning broke.
It was the day of the contest. A black vehicle from the academy pulled up to escort her.
Maren appeared worn down.
With the possibility of a sudden mission to retrieve Stormclaw looming, she couldn’t muster the concentration

for a competition.
Just before boarding the vehicle, Daniel, who had shown up personally, informed her that the Voutsas military had unexpectedly demanded the contest be sped up. The medical and research rounds would now be held
together that day.
The news caught Maren completely unprepared. Daniel himself had no clear explanation–only that the situation in Voutsas had grown volatile.
Maren’s thoughts turned to the hidden faction operating from the shadows.
They had traced it back to Higgs, but he wasn’t the true architect. Even Yvette outranked him in whatever game was being played.
Still, Maren couldn’t afford to focus on any of that.
She had already warned Lucien and Simon to stay sharp.
She ultimately agreed to proceed, after Sawyer called and told her that they wouldn’t have an update until
sometime after midday.
Besides, Maren had made a commitment to Daniel to represent the Royal Military Academy.
Dropping out now would send the wrong message.
