Nathan Cross and Penny Smith brought Sarah Lee back home with them.
Penny asked Sarah to take a shower, and prepared a new set of clothes for her.
Meanwhile, Benson and Leah Smith cooked a bowl of noodles with egg for Sarah. She was starving by the time she came out of the shower.
Nathan and his family sat on the sofa opposite Sarah. He waited till she finished eating the noodles before asking, "Alright, now tell me, how did you provoke the Saber clan? Why are they taking such extreme measures to hunt you down?"
Penny Smith and her brother looked at Sarah nervously.
Sarah was extremely grateful to Nathan and told the story immediately, sparing no details.
Lastly, she took out the USB flash drive that she had hidden away and placed it on the table, smiling bitterly. "I accidentally found evidence of Marcus Lane, the head
of Saber clan, joining The Omniscience and betraying the country. That's why they have to kill me!"
Penny, Benson, and Leah were outraged and commented that the Saber clan was too despicable.
Nathan said plainly, "The Saber clan is extremely powerful; they're not someone to mess with. Ordinary people would never stick their noses into affairs related to them. When I was serving in the military, I saved my leader's life so I have some connections in the military. If you have faith in me, hand me the USB flash drive and leave the problem to me."
Sarah agreed without hesitation.
Firstly, she trusted Nathan a lot. Secondly, both her superior at the television station and the chief of police, Zed Walker, dared not get involved. Thus, she had no possible way to pass the flash drive to the relevant authority, even if that was her wish.
In the mansion of Thousand Island Lake
Resort, Marcus Lane was unleashing his anger on his subordinates.
He growled at his subordinates furiously, "Did I pay you all for nothing? All of you are useless pieces of sh*t that can't even handle a female reporter!"
All the disciples of the Saber clan around him did not dare to utter a word.
Marcus then suppressed his anger and asked calmly, "Where is she now?"
One of his most capable right-hand men, Johnathan Young, answered, "Mr. Lane, Sarah Lee was taken away by Nathan Cross."
Marcus Lane squinted. "Nathan Cross? Could it be that this female reporter was employed by Nathan to cause us trouble?"
