Seeing that nobody believed him, Nathan could only laugh and come up with a random story, "Alright. It's actually because the lot from Demon's Lair is too brazen. Not only did they rob our goods, but they also extorted us. So, I told the city officials about the situation that we're up against. The city officials took the matter very seriously and reported it to the military. Who knew Odysseus Blackwood and his pirates would be wiped out just like that."
It finally registered to Penny and the rest about what had happened when they heard Nathan's story.
"The city officials really do look out for our company," Penny blurted out.
The general manager, Peggy Sharlton flashed a smile and said, "Of course they have to look out for us. The Cross Group is the nation's leading pharmaceutical company. Not to mention it also plays an important role in Channing's economic taxation. The officials won't just leave us to be bullied by pirates."
With Odysseus' arrest, Cross Group's crisis was also averted.
Penny ended the meeting and returned home with Nathan.
When they arrived home, they realized Benson, Leah, Kylie, and Queenie were also watching the news.
When Benson saw Penny, he said excitedly, "Penn, do you remember the Pirate King, Odysseus Blackwood, the one who robbed our company's goods out in the open sea? He and his subordinates have been arrested by the military!"
"That's right!” Penny replied with a grin, "Nathan promised me before that the pirates would be wiped out within a week. I thought he was just bragging then. Who knew that the officials actually listened to his reports and wiped out those pirates."
Benson and Leah couldn't stop smiling when they heard this. They agreed unanimously that Nathan was their family's lucky star and was able to turn all their misfortune into fortune.
Kylie, however, rolled her eyes and thought to herself, There's no way Nathan's that lucky. He must have mobilized the army to wipe Odysseus and his men out. Even if he really did report it to the Channing officials, the military will have to go through a tedious approval process before they're able to take action. There's no way they can move in so quickly!
After dinner, Penny, who was feeling depressed before, was now extremely relaxed.
She decided to take Kylie out on a shopping trip.
