Just as the Holland family gaped at Nathan in shock, a Maybach and two Mercedes-Benz suddenly showed up outside.
The head of the Lillard family, Klay, came to visit them with his youngest son, Keller and a few of his subordinates.
As they approached them, they saw the recyclables scattered all around, so Klay covered his nose with a handkerchief in disgust. Hethen asked nonchalantly, "Is anyone home?"
Maurice flew into a rage when he saw them as he shouted, "Klay Lillard, I was about to ask the Lillard family to give us an explanation, and you came at just the right time!"
The Lillards stepped into the house and saw the Holland family, Nathan, Colin, and the Elite Eight.
Klay was slightly surprised at the number of people present, but he still had an indifferent expression. "What explanation?"
Maurice replied in a rage, "We have already agreed on the engagement, but your family called off the wedding, dumped my daughter, and your son got engaged to Ms. Lone instead! Don't you need to give us an explanation for that?"
Candice, on the other hand, stared at Keller instead. To her disappointment, Keller lowered his head and avoided his gaze while he remained silent.
Klay scowled as he said mockingly, "Since you want an explanation, here's one: Your daughter can't marry a man like my son. Our family received a valuable gift from the General of the North, while your family lives in a dump. What a joke if you think that your daughter is worthy of marrying my son!"
Maurice trembled in rage. "Since you looked down on us since the very beginning, why did you agree to the engagement in the first place?"
Klay snorted. "It's because your somewhat attractive daughter acted all cute and innocent to seduce my son. Now, we've finally snapped out of our delusion and realized that your daughter is not worthy of marrying my son. My son is meant to marry Ms. Lone because that's how things are supposed to go."
Maurice was about to explode in anger, but Candice stopped him.
She bit his lip and directed her question at Keller, "Keller, I just want to ask you one question. Have you ever loved me since the day we got together?"
