3 a.m.
In the presidential suite of Kyoto Grand Hotel.
Inside the room, Nathan and Penny were sleeping.
Nathan, who was sound asleep, opened his eyes when he heard a faint, almost unnoticeable sound of a footstep. It sounded like a cat had landed on the floor.
The room was enclosed in darkness except for a ray of moonlight that shone through the windows.
The curtains billowed slightly with the cool morning breeze.
Nathan squinted his eyes when he realized the windows which that had been closed were now open.
Someone had snuck in!
At that very moment, a shadow flashed across his eyes. Then, a black dagger headed straight for his heart, just like a snake striking its prey.
As Nathan's gaze turned cold, he grabbed his pillow by reflex to block the deadly thrust of the dagger.
Poof!
Si's dagger pierced through Nathan's pillow.
She was shocked that she failed despite her speed and with the element of surprise.
With a slice of the dagger, the pillow was forcefully cut open and the goose feathers inside burst out like a pinata.
With a wave of his hand, Nathan turned all the feathers into arrows and shot them towards S1.
Gasping in shock, SI jumped back. She then brandished her dagger around to shield herself from the arrow-like feathers.
By the time she managed to block all of them, Nathan had gotten out of bed. In fact, he had put on his pants and shoes, and was in the midst of wearing his white shirt.
Under the dim moonlight, S1 could vaguely make out his swimmer-like figure and the multiple scars on his chest.
She was shocked when she realized the target of her hastily-accepted mission was someone terrifyingly strong, despite the ridiculously high bounty that came with it.
He was not only able to notice and foil her assassination attempt, but he also had time to put on his clothes casually.
Furthermore, he did all that without waking his wife who was still fast asleep.
Just when S1 was stunned by Nathan's skills, Nathan stared back at her in surprise when he realized the assassin was a woman.
Whoosh!
S1 dashed towards Nathan again in lightning speed as she thrust her dagger towards his heart.
Raising his hand, Nathan grabbed her wrist.
But Si's reflexes were lightning quick and she smashed her knee towards his abdomen.
