Diego Waters, Travis Herrington, and their adherents started presenting their gifts one by one.
Meanwhile, Nathan was wholesomely instructing his family members to receive them.
As Nathan was gazing across the crowd at Diego and the others, there was an obvious restlessness shown on the expression of those who just arrived.
Looks like Diego and the rest are very perturbed!
Diego and Travis knew that their sons were in cahoots with Phoebe, and standing on Phoebe's side meant being against Nathan.
As soon as they received Nathan's call, their faces went as white as a sheet, and they rushed over to Channing as soon as possible to make it up to Nathan.
Nathan had just gone north and beaten the King of the North, Lucifer Leeroy, as well as recently taking down Christopher Beckett at Mayberry in the East.
Everyone knew that whoever crossed Nathan would be met with no good end.
Once Diego, Travis, and the others found out what their sons had done, they shuddered at the thought of incurring Nathan's wrath. Hence, they immediately gathered everyone to come over as an apology to him.
“Mr. Waters and Mr. Herrington. Thank you both for going so far out of your way to come to my wife's birthday banquet on such short notice!” Nathan said with glee.
“Please, make your way inside and make yourselves at home. I'll join all of you for a couple of drinks,” Nathan continued.
Before arriving at the venue, Diego, Travis, and the others were afraid that Nathan would take out his anger on them due to their sons' folly.
However, Nathan's smile reassured them that he wasn't going to seek retribution against all those who came over from Brimmopolis. At least for the time being.
“After you, General,” everyone replied to Nathan's invitation.
As they had settled into the venue, Nathan and Penny started making merry with Diego, Travis, and the other guests. Not long after, the upper class of Channing that were invited slowly made their way into the venue as well.
The people who had originally gone to the Excalibur's party had slowly started showing up to Penny's birthday banquet.
“Ms. Smith, sorry for being late! Happy birthday!” said one latecomer.
“President Smith, there was some congestion on the roads earlier that caused me to be late. I'll take three shots just to make it up to you and to wish you a happy birthday,” said another.
“Hello, Mrs. Cross, I was out getting the gift I prepared for you, that's why I was late. I hope you can forgive me,” mentioned yet another.
