Half an hour later, another personal aircraft landed at the Alberesque army base.
Nathan stepped out in military regalia. He had also brought along Colin, Ava, and the Elite Eight, alongside fifty elite soldiers from the Dragonfury Special Forces regiment.
Vadim also came out with a large number of soldiers to greet Nathan.
“Welcome General Cross, to Alberesque.”
Behind Vadim, more than two thousand soldiers greeted Nathan in unison.
Vadim and a few dozen of his most capable soldiers greeted Nathan with a salute. He then reached out a hand and said, “You've arrived, General.”
Nathan shook hands with Vadim, then looked around. He could find no trace of Phoebe or the others.
He calmly asked, “Where is Phoebe Davier?”
Vadim smiled. “They're all at my residence. Please, come with me, and we'll have a chat.”
The corner of Nathan's mouth rose in a smirk. “Very well.”
Soon, Nathan and his entourage made their way to Vadim's residence, further inside the base.
Everyone seemed to be on high alert today. Soldiers with guns and live ammunition were standing guard. With every five to ten paces, a sentry would patrol the area. It was as if they were anticipating the arrival of a heavily armed enemy force.
When they neared the entrance of his residence, Vadim paused to address Nathan. “General, my home isn't large enough to accommodate everyone. Why don't you let your men wait for you in the mess hall?”
At his behest, Vadim's subordinates began asking Colin and the rest of Nathan's entourage to move.
However, all of them remained motionless despite his request.
Vadim then realized that the entourage would only obey commands from Nathan himself.
Nathan smiled and said, “Colin and Ava will follow me to General Normandy's abode. The rest of you, wait here.”
The Elite Eight and the Dragonfury fighters gave Nathan a quick salute and responded with a
loud “Yes, Sir.”
Having sorted this out, the party made their way into Vadim's abode.
Several people were awaiting Nathan's arrival in the spacious and well-decorated living room.
