Salute To The General (Nathan Cross) novel Chapter 1658

For the next two days, Nathan continued going to the Royal Palace to visit his sick mentor.

However, he still did not manage to see his mentor, who was really ill. It was always Aunt Camilla who welcomed him when he visited.

As news about Nathan's second attack had been hushed up, only the higher-ranking officials of the cabinet and a handful of others knew about it.

Over the past two days, Timothy tapped on his investigative skills and tried his utmost best to discover the truth.

Weston had also been captured by the Secret Service.

With Timothy personally leading the team, they took turns interrogating him for two consecutive days and nights.

After two sleepless nights, anyone else would have already broken down and admitted to everything.

However, Weston came from a military background and was the boss of an international security company. Furthermore, his educational qualifications, mental acuity, and physical strength were top-notch.

Even though he was exhausted after two sleepless nights, he still forced himself to hold on. Not a single confession could be extracted from him.

Time ticked by and it was already the third night.

Timothy was still in the interrogation room at 1 a.m. Although he looked extremely haggard, he still stared at Weston, who was handcuffed at the interrogation desk, sternly and intently. He coldly demanded, “Weston, you liaised with the Dark Lord's mercenaries, right? Who gave you those instructions? Who ordered you to help the Dark Lord's mercenaries infiltrate Brimmopolis?”

By then, Weston was already on the brink of losing consciousness. He forced a weak smile on his face and replied weakly, “No one liaised with me. My company focuses on international security. When foreigners come here, they seek us out for consultations and relevant information. What's the matter? Did the Dark Lord's men stir up any trouble?”

After a slight pause, he scoffed, “Hah! Even so, it has nothing to do with me. Mr. Carter, you can't possibly accuse me just because I met the Dark Lord's men once, right? We're both Mr. Tucker's disciples. Isnt it inappropriate of you to treat a fellow disciple of his like this?”

At the mention of Mr. Tucker, Timothy's expression changed.

As he was being pressured by the General, he had no choice but to do this in order to save himself. Otherwise, he would never willingly investigate someone related to Mr. Tucker.

Furthermore, he was afraid that the investigation might indicate that Mr. Tucker had something to do with this. In that case, he would not know what to do.

Timothy's thoughts were messed up.

Judging from Weston's attitude, it looked like he was still far away from a mental breakdown. He would not succumb anytime soon.

Hence, he coldly said, “You are refusing to speak, right? It's okay. I can interrogate you until you're willing to confess.”

With that, he instructed his subordinates in the interrogation room to take turns interrogating Weston, not giving him any time to rest or sleep.

Then, he walked out of the room alone.

His phone rang at that moment, displaying a call from Mr. Tucker.

A strange expression crossed Timothy's face. After a slight hesitation, he answered the call and greeted respectfully, “Mr. Tucker. You haven't slept yet?”

Boris replied with a smile, “I just finished some work, and am about to sleep. Suddenly, I heard my wife mention that Weston was captured for no reason. His family is extremely worried. As they can't get any information at all, they visited me to ask about it. He's my disciple like you, so I'm calling you to see what's the situation.”

Timothy replied, “Mr. Tucker, we found out that Weston has been liaising with the Dark Lord's men. As we suspect that he has something to do with the two attacks on the General, we invited him for an interrogation.”

Boris grunted an acknowledgment before asking, “So, have you found out anything from the interrogation?”

Timothy muttered, “No.”

Raising his volume, Boris demanded, “What the heck are you doing? You've already locked him up for two days, but still haven't found out anything?”

Timothy was at a loss for words.
