Salute To The General (Nathan Cross) novel Chapter 1672

Hansel scanned through the document in which its content brought about a cold smile to his face. In the end, he marked it with a big red cross before he wrote the word 'disapproved.'

Then, he tossed it onto the conference table.

Boris' face turned ashen while the

Cabinet members who were on good terms with him looked visibly uneasy.

Casting his eyes upon them, Hansel stated coldly, “Nathan has indeed overstepped his authority when he led the Guardian Special Forces and the Secret Service to break into a cabinet member's residence. Yet, our country needs the North Army's protection, and no one else can lead the army as Nathan does. How could you remove him from office without seeking my approval?”

Boris and the others dared not utter a single word in defense.

Finally, Zion spoke up, “President Windsor, you're right. The Cabinet has indeed made a rash decision this time. So, what should we do with Nathan?”

Hansel pondered on this for a while before he spoke, “Nathan has indeed broken the rules, but we need to take his motives and the consequences of his action into consideration while we decide the course of action for this matter.

“Just like a person charged with homicide, there is a difference in the sentencing between manslaughter and premeditated murder. The motive and the consequence of an act would bring about a substantial difference in decisionmaking.”

Zion and the others concurred with him, “President Windsor, you're absolutely right.”

Right then, Hansel turned to glance at Camilla, giving her a faint nod.

The latter called out, “You can come in now.”

The next moment, Hailey and Will entered the Cabinet's conference hall.

Hansel looked at them. “The two of you were with Nathan yesterday at Mr. Tucker's residence. Tell me, why did you break into his house and take all of his documents and electronic gadgets?” he questioned.

Will answered, “I was there to help General to arrest the S-Class criminal. I know nothing about the documents and electronic gadgets.”

Then, Hailey added, “I was there to arrest the criminal as well. My subordinates and I seized Mr.

Tucker's property under General's order.”

Hansel looked toward Nathan. “Does this mean that it was all your idea?”
