Salute To The General (Nathan Cross) novel Chapter 1698

Upon seeing Clifford, Kiel exclaimed excitedly, “Dad, you're home.”

Even though Clifford was usually serious-looking, he couldn't help but smile wholeheartedly after seeing his son. “I was attending a reception earlier, I just arrived home.”

“Why did you come home suddenly without informing us beforehand?”

Being born in a military family, Kiel had been studying in an elite military school since young and was a graduate with honors.

After graduation, he was sent to the Royal Military Academy in Ariarica to further his studies as an exchange student. He was considered the pride of the Davier family.

Clifford was utterly shocked to learn that his son had returned from abroad.

While Kiel was explaining the reason for his sudden return, the smile on his face disappeared.

Feeling infuriated, he uttered sternly, “Dad, I rushed back in an instance the moment I received news about Phoebe's death.”

Clifford frowned, “I did not tell you about that because I don't want this news to affect your studies at the Royal Military Academy. Who would have figured you'll come all the way back here once you received the news.”

Kiel said, “Someone told me about it and it's better for you not to know who that was. Dad, the entire family has treated her as the jewel of the family and protected her well since she was born. Now that she has lost her life and it might be inconvenient for you to seek revenge on her behalf due to your status, let me take on the responsibility then.”

Clifford exclaimed, “Shut up. Phoebe was to be blamed for her own death and I was the one who ordered the gun to be fired. I don't allow you to seek revenge in this matter. Furthermore, you are the future of the Davier family, I want you to go back to Ariarica this instance and complete your studies.”

Upon hearing that, Kiel argued defiantly, “Dad, you are a very important person in the Cabinet, so why are you afraid of Nathan, that mere commander-in-chief? If you don't dare to seek revenge on him, I will. I'll return to Ariarica after I've killed him and avenge Phoebe.”

Clifford exclaimed furiously, “Are you going against me? Someone, take him down.”

Immediately after that, two of the Cabinet Bodyguards next to Clifford pounced on Kiel simultaneously.

Kiel snorted coldly and took a step forward. Both his hands were curled tightly into fists and he punched.
