Salute To The General (Nathan Cross) novel Chapter 1732

In the departure hall of the Brimmopolis airport, Penny and Kylie stood from their seats and were ready to board the plane. Instinctively, Penny turned and looked at her surroundings one last time. A glimmer of hope lingered in her mind. Maybe... Just maybe... He will come?

Then, catching her inane self, she let out a wry chuckle.

I'm such a fool. Nathan is probably on the military plane heading towards the North. How could he appear here?

She closed her eyes and took a deep breath. Stop dreaming about the impossible; he's not here.

Kylie noticed her unusual behavior and her darting looks. “Penny, are you hoping for Nathan

to be here?”

A slight flush crept onto her face as if she was a child caught red-handed for stealing a cookie from the jar. “W-What? Why would I be thinking about that? He's probably flying to the North right now.”

Kylie sighed. “That's true. But then again, Nathan should have made a trip to Channing before going off...”

“That's not rational at all. The situation in the

North is escalating quickly. Nathan is the General of the North and there are three hundred thousand troops awaiting his orders. He must be present to protect the border!”

Keeping her agitation in check, Penny softened her voice and continued, “Xyperia is becoming more powerful and can invade the North at any moment. It's no surprise that Nathan has to rush back to handle the situation. Therefore, it's completely natural that he can't come today.”

Kylie grabbed the woman's hand and smiled sheepishly. “Fine, I got it. Pretend I didn't say anything! I'm sorry.” She blinked her puppy eyes for added effect.

Her endearing apology made Penny chuckle. “Getting away with everything with your irresistible charm, huh? You cute little girl...

Alright, let's go join the lineup.”

The duo boarded the plane from its rear door. Once on the plane, they made their way to the first-class cabin.

While passing through the economy class, Penny took notice of a group of rowdy passengers who seemed to be traveling together. In particular, a man in a Hawaiian shirt grabbed her attention.
