After collecting himself, Nathan arrived at the study and knocked.
Hansel's voice rang out. “Come in!"
Upon entry, he saw Hansel wearing his reading glasses and going through the papers.
The headline was all about Ceaser's gruesome murder.
Nathan bowed and greeted, “Mr. Windsor.”
If it was any other day, Hansel would definitely have warmly invited Nathan to sit.
But today, Hansel's attention remained on the newspaper despite being aware of Nathan's presence. He casually asked, “You're finally here.
Have you seen the news today?”
Nathan glanced at the newspaper in Hansel's hand and replied, “I haven't read the papers but someone has informed me of the news.”
Hansel put down the papers and snorted, “Since you're aware, let me then ask you, did you do it?”
Nathan shook his head. “No, it wasn't me!”
As both of them looked into each other's eyes, Nathan's gaze remained calm and collected.
Hansel nodded. “I didn't think it was you too. Given how aggressive your character is, you would have stormed his home and kill him yourself if that was what you wanted. Assassination just isn't your style.”
Nathan smiled wryly. “You know be best.”
Hansel continued, “I believe you but the
Goldstein family doesn't and that includes Mr.
Davier too.”
“I am going to step down soon. Hence, I don't wish for anything major to happen before that happens. Do you understand?”
Nathan nodded. “I understand.”
Hansel added, “There are people who feel that my time is up and disrespect me by creating trouble. Therefore, you have to get to the bottom of this and find out who the mastermind behind the scenes is.”
Nathan replied, “I will.”
Hansel waved him off. “Since you didn't kill Leaser, please restrain yourself if the Goldstein family and Mr. Davier make things difficult for you. Dont go overboard when you retaliate. Alright now, off you go.”
