Salute To The General (Nathan Cross) novel Chapter 1890

Though Clifford was not known to be a man who would let his emotions show, he was evidently infuriated by the current situation.

His son and daughter had died because of Nathan Cross, not to mention his stepson, who had become disabled.

It came as a devastating shock to him that the Demon Troopers had failed their mission.

The Demon Troopers were the top-notch private army that the Davier family had spent billions on every year to build.

Clifford could not wrap his head around how Nathan had defeated Apocalypse and his two hundred soldiers, who were armed with tens of sub-machine guns.

They even had snipers! And yet they lost?

Clifford was on edge. Bawling at the top of his lungs, he yelled, “Worthless bums! All of them are worthless bums! Why did I put in all of that money just to raise an army of weak, little boy scouts?”

With his head still low, Quent spoke in a shaky voice, “The survivors said that Nathan had a squad of people guarding him. They were armed with guns, and are highly experienced in battle... cc

Trailing off, Quent pursed his lips and looked up after a moment of hesitation. “Mr. Davier, I suspect that the former President, Hansel Windsor, might have been involved in this. Though he is no longer the president, many high-ranking officials in the military had been picked out by him, such as Will, the commanderin-chief of Capital Garrison. I suspect that

Hansel knew about our plans to take down Nathan and sent out a squad of men to protect him in secret. That must be the reason why Apocalypse underestimated his enemy and ultimately failed the mission!”

Clifford's brows furrowed deeper.

I see. So that's why Apocalypse failed.

“Hmph. Hansel Windsor, that old good-for-nothing. He had always been in my way back when he was still the President. Now that he has retired, he's still interfering with my plans. I shall have some fun with him once I get the chance!” Clifford said, gritting his teeth.

Quent exhaled deeply, lowered his head, and asked, “Mr. Davier, Nathan seems to be on a plane to Channing as of now. What should we do about it?”
