Salute To The General (Nathan Cross) novel Chapter 1906

At this very moment, Nathan approached the third general in the welcoming troops.

Everyone knew of the Three Tigers and Seven Champions from the North Army.

The Three Tigers referred to commanders: Fang, Destroyer, and Heptakill, who operated under Nathan's command.

Alongside this, the Seven Champions included major generals: Cyril, Orrin, Galen, Atlas, Caius, Myron, and Hadrian.

The man whom Nathan stood before was Cyril, the leader of the Seven Champions.

Cyril was only in his thirties but already held the high rank of major-general.

He had made outstanding achievements in the North Army over the years. If all his medals were pinned to his coat, he would be covered spotless in countless shiny metal disks.

Though he had many honorable achievements, Cyril was an arrogant man.

There were not many whom he deemed worthy in the North Army. It would take more than all three of the Tigers to completely defeat him. The only man who had received his complete respect and admiration was General Nathan.

Cyril became very upset when General Nathan had been dismissed, often complaining how unjust it was.

Thankfully, Fang was appointed as temporary commander-in-chief short after. Cyril was fairly content with Fang's leadership and was willing to obey his orders.

However, that didn't last long when the Chief Military Governor had been appointed out of nowhere.

He remembered how Fang, Destroyer, and Heptakill welcomed the new Chief Military Governor, and how they appeared to kiss at his feet- that upset him.

How heartless of them! They did nothing when the General was dismissed. Instead, they abandoned General, who had taken them under his wing, and confided in a stranger. How could they willingly accept this Chief Military Governor who unfairly replaced the General?Did the General not mean anything to these three men?

Cyril felt irritated. He refused to salute the Chief Military Governor before him, nor did Cyril bow or shake hands with him like the Three Tigers did.

Cyril's blank gaze stilled on the man, not bothering to express any form of acknowledgment.

Fang, Destroyer, and Heptakill couldn't help but share anxious looks at the tense scene.

They knew that Cyril was only resisting the Chief Military Governor because he didn't know that it was the General in disguise.

A good soldier should be able to recognize their general, they thought to themselves.

But Nathan understood why Cyril behaved coldly towards him. After all, he was disguised as someone else.
