Salute To The General (Nathan Cross) novel Chapter 1945

Brimmopolis, Saphira Mountain.

The tranquil valleys were disrupted by a party of obnoxiously luxurious cars. They gathered at Lamburg Mountain Villa at the foot of Saphira.

In a long black skirt and tasteful makeup, Gillian Goldstein looked elegant. She led her extended family, arranging them based on seniority in a line in front of the villa.

Gazing at the closed entrance, she said in a low voice, “Gillian Goldstein, on behalf of the Goldstein family, asks humbly to meet her uncle.”

“We Goldsteins ask humbly to meet our granduncle,” the party of Goldsteins behind her chorused.

The combined volume of the crowd startled the roosting birds. There was 3 flurry of movement as they took flight.

Despite their pleas, the heavy doors remained shut, with no sign of movement from within.

Gillian glanced behind her.

Gritting her teeth, she knelt down. Her family followed suit.

“Uncle, our family name has been around for millennia. We have had centuries of glory as one of the most powerful families in the country.”

“However, my generation failed at carrying on the legacy. We are weak-willed and incapable. As a result, we were vulnerable to outside attacks.”

“Nathan Cross has humiliated us. He defeated all of our best fighters and shamed us in front of the world.”

“If that wasn't enough, he has killed many Goldsteins with his bare hands.”

“It was only yesterday that he had murdered Webb, the heir of the Goldsteins.”

“Nathan Cross has humiliated and dragged our name through the mud.”

“I am powerless to avenge us by myself. That is why I came here to humbly ask for your help. Let us work together to kill Nathan Cross and his entire family.”

“We humbly ask that Grand-uncle help us avenge our family!” The Goldsteins behind her shouted in unison.

The door remained tightly shut.

Gillian clenched her jaw. “If Uncle will not come out, I will not rise.”

The crowd repeated her vow.

The door showed no sign of opening.
