Salute To The General (Nathan Cross) novel Chapter 1974

Alongside Colin and Ava, the Elite Eight huddled together around Nathan.

Colin laughed mockingly when he heard the challenges from Cruel Blade and the Eight Heavenly Warlords. “Who are they to ask our General for a fight? Come, I will have my fun with you.

Colin strode towards them confidently as he spoke.

Not to be outdone by Colin, Ava trailed behind him. “Colin, you shouldn't steal all the glory. Leave some of them for me,” she said cheerfully.

“Alright, the four weaklings on the left will be mine. Can you handle the ones on the right?” He asked her arrogantly and waved his hand in the direction of the eight warlords.

“No problem,” Ava agreed with a grin, “Shall we make our usual bet? The first person to bring them down wins.”

'What should we bet on?” Colin asked with a frown as he glanced at Ava.

She looked at the elaborate sword hanging around his waist. “Did your ancestors give you that sword?” Ava asked him with a neutral expression.

“Yeah. Why are you asking?” Colin replied.

“I'd like to bet on this sword tonight,” Ava said and cocked her brows.

“Fine, I want to bet on your Tri-Spear,” Colin replied begrudgingly, “If you lose, you'll have to give me your Tri-Spear.” “It's a deal,” Ava agreed.

As soon as she finished the deal, Ava's body shot forward in a blur. Her speed as she hurtled towards Cruel Blade resembled a flash of lightning.

Cruel Blade and his comrades originally planned to challenge Nathan. Yet, Nathan didn't even bother to face him. Only two of his bodyguards stepped forward to welcome the war. They felt underestimated at the sight of the two bodyguards.

Even worse, both Colin and Ava planned to take on four of them each. They even made a daring bet to see who could finish the fight first.

They seethed angrily at Colin and Ava's arrogant attitudes.

Just when Cruel Blade was about to explode in anger, Ava had made the first move. She darted towards him like a bright flash of lightning.

The pace of her movements was beyond his wildest imagination.

Such frightening speed!

Cruel Blade's anger vanished into thin air as he fumbled for his sword in a mixture of fright and panic.

Snap!

The long sword in his hand was unsheathed to block Ava's Tri-Spear.

Clang!
