Looking at the situation, Xenia and Zac grew more anxious and were about to mediate between both parties.
At that moment, someone suddenly hollered, “Stop it right there!”
The loud voice shocked everyone in the room.
They all looked in the direction of the sound and saw a group of people at the door.
A middle-aged man in a grey suit stood in front of them. He was none other than the Director of the Ministry of Education - Yaacob.
Beside him was Jaeden, Violet's husband, who was sweating profusely.
There were also several other staff from the
Ministry of Education behind them.
They were all sweating and panting as though they had been rushing over.
More importantly, Yaacob and his men looked very uneasy.
When the bodyguards saw Jaeden, they were flabbergasted. They stammered, “Mr.
Winstead...what are you doing here?”
Mrs. Winstead was equally as startled as they were. When she recovered from the shock, she ran to her husband and questioned, “What are you doing here with Director Donnovan and the rest of your colleagues?”
Gritting his teeth, Jaeden hissed, “I should be the one to ask you - what have you done?”
Dumbfounded, his wife wanted to protest that she did nothing wrong.
At that instant, Yaacob and the other men from the Ministry of Education shuffled towards Nathan. Politely, he greeted, “Mr. Cross, when I received your call, I came as quickly as I could with my subordinates. You must have been waiting for a long time, and I hope that it wasn't too late.”
Violet, Xenia, and Zac were taken aback when they heard how respectful Yaacob acted towards Nathan. Not only did he speak politely, but he also appeared humble in front of Nathan.
