Salute To The General (Nathan Cross) novel Chapter 2043

Nathan removed his Leviathan mask, changed into a casual outfit, and left the Headquarters of the Chief Military Governor after he finished his work.

Colin had been waiting in a black sedan for quite a while by the street.

Nathan got in the backseat of the sedan.

Colin respectfully inquired, “General, where would you like to go?”

Nathan replied indifferently, “Head to the Crystal Hotel.”

“Yes, sir!” Colin obeyed his order.

Soon, Nathan arrived at the Crystal Hotel.

Penny, Kylie, and Queenie were having dinner together.

Penny rushed to help Nathan remove his jacket when she saw him and then requested another cutlery set from the waitress.

Queenie asked curiously, “Papa, where did you go today?”

Nathan smiled. “I went to work. As I have told you before, I will be working in Brimmopolis in the future.”

Queenie nodded.

Penny gently quizzed, “Hubby, you have rested for quite some time now. Is everything fine at work?”

Nathan chuckled, “Im fine!”

Since Penny didn't inquire about his position and job description, he decided to omit those details.

They chatted as they ate dinner.

Suddenly, Nathan's phone rang.

His brows knitted into a frown as he listened to the call.

It was from Hansel Windsor.

He explained about Horatio being tricked into selling his priceless abstract painting at only three thousand.

Nathan comforted, “You can still earn the money back after losing it. Firstly, calm Mr. Horatio down. I'll locate the swindler's whereabouts and retrieve the painting.”

Hansel laughed bitterly, “Father was in so much regret and hatred that he was trapped in a web of self-condemnation. He passed out after being overwhelmed by his emotions.”

“We have him admitted into the hospital. Although he's awake, he is still emotional about the incident.

“The doctor has advised us to retrieve the painting as soon as possible to lessen his guilt and calm him down. Otherwise, his health would take a terrible turn from being so emotional at his age.”

Nathan replied, “Mr. Windsor, please be rest assured that I will retrieve the abstract painting by tomorrow morning.”
