Penny was confused so she asked her while at a loss, "Kylie, what are you saying?"
Kylie asserted, "I'm just telling the truth. Penny, you are already the boss of a listed company. What about him? I don't even want to start with what he did to you then.”
"He is still the same after such a long time! On top of that, he's unemployed and lives on you."
Penny, Benson, and Leah were speechless and dumbfounded at her words.
Queenie heard Kylie bad-mouthing her father and she was the first to show her displeasure so she got down from Kylie's arms.
The little girl jogged to Nathan and spread her arms out to protect Nathan as she huffed, "Aunt Kylie, I don't like how you are bad-mouthing my Papa! He's the best Papa in the world!"
Penny added in quickly, "Kylie, Nathan and I are in a rather complicated relationship.
It's hard to tell you all at once now. But I can assure you that Nathan is not as bad as you think. I will find the time to explain everything to you, alright?"
Benson also stepped in and said, "Come on, let's eat. The dishes will turn cold soon."
So, the family sat down for dinner.
As they ate, Penny asked Kylie why she came to Channing for a visit.
Kylie told her proudly, "Remember I work at Dawn Medical Research Institute? We have managed to produce the first vaccine to cure liver cancer. Hence, Mad Doctor gave us a month's break."
Penny and the rest cheered for her happily.
Everyone knew that cancer was one of the most challenging terminal diseases in the medical field, and liver cancer was one of the most common ones.
There was only an HPV vaccine available in the market right now. If the Dawn
Medical Research Institute managed to produce a vaccine that could cure liver cancer, it would definitely be a breakthrough in the field of medical research!
All of them agreed that Kylie's work was extremely noble, and Kylie was very proud of her achievements too.
However, no one noticed Nathan's eyes flashing with excitement.
None of them were aware that Nathan was the one who invested and founded Dawn Medical Research Institute.
