Nathan and Penny came to a medicine shop to get something for Leah. Leah sprained her leg sometime earlier, and she was recuperating. The doctor wanted her to soak her feet in herb-infused water, since it would speed up the healing process.
Because of that, Nathan would come to the medicine shop with Penny every other day to get the medicine for Leah.
They came out from the shop after making their purchase and walked along the roadside as they made their way to the parking lot.
When they went past a florist shop, they noticed a young guy buying some flowers for his girlfriend. Penny looked at the flowers the girl was holding, and she wanted some too, so she glanced at Nathan.
Nathan noticed the look in her eyes, and he smiled. “Give me a minute. I'll have to
get something.”
Penny's heart leaped with joy, and she asked him happily, “What are you getting?”
Nathan smiled. “Cigarettes.”
Penny's smile froze, and she grumbled, “Fine. I'll be waiting in the parking lot for you then.” She left him alone without saying another word.
But not long after she left, she calmed down again. Well, we've been married for a long time now. It's fine if he doesn't get me any flowers. Besides, he's not a hopeless romantic. He doesn't really know about this kind of stuff.
After Penny left, Nathan smiled at her, then he went into the florist shop and asked the shopkeeper for their most beautiful rose. He bought it right away and went to the parking lot.
Nathan was a muscular man, and his eyes sparkled like the stars. He was the kind of man who looked better and better over time.
And he also had a different air about him, so when he went past the pedestrians, a lot of the ladies looked at him curiously, though when they saw the rose he was holding in his hands, they started getting envious of his girlfriend who managed to snag such a handsome man.
Nathan was feeling a bit awkward though. He thought buying flowers was a bit stupid, but since his wife liked it, he had no reason to refuse.
When Penny came to the sedan parked in the open parking lot, she realized that she had no keys, so she would have to wait for Nathan before she could get in.
It was then, eight cars suddenly showed up around her. The car in the lead was a Bentley, while the rest were black Audis.
