Bowen's exit was a hasty one. His departure left Nathan and Zach alone at the table.
When Bowen was finally gone, the two broke out in laughter.
“Seriously, what's wrong with that man?” Zach exclaimed. “Not only does he not know who you are, but he is also clueless about our relationship. I can't believe he came to me asking for help!”
Nathan nodded. “I bet you scared the shit of the poor man. I hope he treads more carefully next time.”
“I can tell he felt so out of place when we were drinking just now,” Zach replied, taking up his glass again.
“Come, let's have another one.”
“Whatever my friend wants.”
While the two men were having a jolly time, Bowen had made his way back to the hospital. After he reached, he met Kristoff, who was dressed in a white hospital gown, under the shade.
“Nathan is more powerful than I imagined him to be,” Bowen sighed.
“Even the trained men I brought with me were no match for him. I think they call him God of War in the military. Although he's not the Commander-In-Chief of the North Army anymore, there are still many who held him in high regard. There is nothing someone from Eagleland can do in Eurasia. This is not where my clout lies. I regret to say this is where our cooperation ends, Mr. Young.”
“Come on, Mr. Camden. What's with this pessimism? Nathan might be influential, but he’s just an ex-service member. There's no reason for you to be afraid of him. Don't tell me you're not interested in Cross Corporation anymore. The company has got the vaccine and cure for liver cancer.
They will only develop on that base and create more cures for other diseases. They are turning into a medical powerhouse, and you know what that means. It’s a whole lot of money.”
It went without saying that Bowen understood things from KristofFs point of view, but he was straitjacketed when it came to Nathan, and Kristoff sensed it.
“Leave the matter to me if there's really nothing you can do about him.
I can get rid of him and bring your daughter back to the family, then you'll get the company.”
Kristoff offered aid. “Novah
Pharmaceutical Company will work with you when all this is settled. I'm sure we will benefit tremendously from this partnership.”
