Salute To The General (Nathan Cross) novel Chapter 2382

The captain of the honor guards drew out his sword, gave a standard military salute, and shouted, “Salute!”

All the soldiers present saluted Layden in unison.

The military band also began to perform a ceremonial piece to welcome him as ceremonial cannons fired in salute from a distance.

The reception bestowed upon him was truly of the highest kind.

Layden could not help but feel excited as he strode toward the

President and Chief Military Governor briskly.

Garrett and Nathan also went up to greet him along with their respective subordinates.

Cayden was the first to stop and salute the two men. “Greetings, President Woods, Chief Military Governor. Your former Lieutenant General, Cayden Quillen, requests to return home.”

Garrett shook Cayden s hand firmly as he said with a smile, “Welcome back, General Quillen.”

After Cayden shook hands with Garrett, he took the initiative to shake hands with Nathan.

He was all smiles as he said, “I've heard about your glorious name long before coming back and have admired you since then. I'm glad to have finally met you, sir.”

As Nathan returned the gesture, his eyes stared calmly at Layden through the Leviathan mask. “I've also admired you for a long time, General Quillen. Welcome back,” he responded with a smile.

“All right. You can stop admiring each other now. There'll be plenty of opportunities to work with one another in the future,” Garrett chirped gleefully. “Let’s go. The banquet is ready at the State Guesthouse, and many highly respectable people have rushed over to celebrate your return to the country upon hearing the news, General Quillen. Let’s not keep them waiting long and head over now!"

Since the president had spoken, everyone readily agreed, getting into their respective rides. The large convoy of cars immediately headed toward the State Guesthouse.

Colin was driving the sedan Nathan was sitting in. Sage sat in the passenger's seat while Nathan sat at the back, accompanied by Fang, the commander-in-chief of the North

Army.
