Cayden asked coldly, “I assigned you to look for someone to annihilate Nathan Cross previously, didn't I? How's the preparation so far?”
Leroy replied hastily, “I've already assigned my men to get in touch with Hellish Assassin, a top-notch assassin. He has agreed to assist us in annihilating Nathan Cross. I presume he'll reach Brimmopolis two days later.”
Cayden nodded in relief. “Hellish Assassin is deemed a legendary fighter. Even though his prowess is incomparable to Claudius Norris, the quirky old bugger, he's undoubtedly one of the mightiest fighters nowadays. Thus, I believe it'll be as easy as rolling off a log for him to eliminate Nathan Cross!”
Leroy let out a mysterious grin. “Cayden, there's one more thing that I wish to tell you.”
Cayden asked inquisitively, “What is it?”
Leroy cut to the chase. “Cayden, you used to be a well-known figure in the military. Even after your disappearance for twenty years, there's still a large group of your former subordinates who remain loyal to you. At the moment, most of them are involved in other industries after quitting the military. The moment they knew about your return, they came all the way to Brimmopolis willingly, vowing to follow you back to the military to restore the glory and fame.”
Whipped up by his words, Layden asked excitedly, “Do you mean to say that my former subordinates are here in Brimmopolis to join me? Who are they? Tell me right away!”
Leroy grinned from ear to ear as he replied, “There are too many to name. Among them, the Four Combat Kings are the most famous ones.
Cayden, do you still remember the four of them? They're Matias Caffery, the Eastern Combat King, Fredrick Yarbrough, the Western Combat King, Trevor Parker, the Southern Combat King, and Landen Xenos, the Northern Combat King. They've assembled in Brimmopolis and made a dinner reservation at Golden Tower Restaurant, waiting in anticipation to meet you.”
Wearing a look of sheer delight, Cayden laughed heartily. “What fantastic news! It never occurred to me that my mightiest Four Combat Kings and other former subordinates would be here to join me! I've been racking my brain on who I should assign to hold the top positions in the military after I'm appointed as the Assistant Chief Military Governor. Since they're all here now, the matter bugging my mind all this while is finally resolved! Hahaha!”
“True indeed!” Leroy buttered him up with a gleeful smile.
Cayden instructed him, “Call them up to notify them that I'll reach Golden Tower Restaurant on the dot at seven tonight to meet them.
Leroy nodded respectfully. “Noted, Cayden!”
In the meantime, Nathan had just stepped out of the Cross residence when his phone rang abruptly, and it turned out to be a call from Kylie.
“Nathan, I've just touched down at the airport in Brimmopolis. Come and fetch me now!” She sounded excited on the other end of the line.
Nathan was dumbfounded. “Why are you here?”
Kylie giggled. “I’m on a long holiday now, but I have no idea where I should go. That’s why I decided to fly here and look for you.”
Nathan was utterly speechless. He suspected that she applied for a leave wittingly for a vacation in Brimmopolis. Oh my! But I can't send her back right away without entertaining her, can I?
He had no choice but to remind her, “Stay where you're now and don't move. I'll be there soon.”
After hanging up the phone, he instructed Colin to turn the car around and head for the airport instead.
