Torsten and the others were shocked and furious upon hearing Nathan's words.
Initially, Torsten wanted to argue that Nathan had no right to test them on behalf of the military.
However, he suddenly remembered their mission to kill Nathan for Layden.
Previously, they were worried about the lack of opportunity to attack Nathan.
Now, Nathan had offered himself on a platter to them by suggesting a spar to test their abilities.
Therefore, Torsten smirked and said, "You want to test our abilities with a spar? Sure. We want to fight you too and see whether you live up to your reputation as someone who had experienced war in the North."
Osvald sneered and said, “I agree to a spar, but you should know that I have difficulty controlling my strength. Don't hold it against me if there is an accident."
Rasmus added slyly, "Nathan, since you have agreed to spar with us, you can't hold us responsible for anything that happened to you."
Esben sneered at Nathan and said, "Nathan, you are the God of War. Are you going to chicken out now?"
Hearing them, Colin retorted furiously, "All of you are nothing against him. Who do you think you are? None of you are worthy of the General's time.
I shall play with you all instead."
However, Nathan said calmly, "Colin, it's nothing. Since this involves choosing new recruits for the military, I should test them myself."
Colin nodded and returned to his position behind Nathan.
Meanwhile, Cheryl seemed troubled. She did not
know that Nathan was the Chief Military Governor and thought he had lost his influence. Furthermore, she considered that Cayden was about to be the Assistant Chief Military Governor. Therefore, she was worried that Nathan would be in trouble if he continued to oppose the Quillen family.
Thus, she regretted her rash action just now that dragged Nathan into this mess.
