Various luxury cars including Lincolns, Maybachs, Rolls-Royces, and Bentleys among others were parked in the open carpark in Paladin Resort.
Even the cheapest ones were Mercedes-Benzs, BMWs, and Audis.
However, when Nathan's sedan appeared, the other cars promptly paled in comparison.
After the car rolled to a stop, the door opened.
Colin stepped out and went out to open the backseat door.
Nathan and Cheryl alighted from the vehicle.
Once Nathan showed up, everyone stared at him attentively.
The scarface appeared before them. “Ha! Nathan, you're here. With a female partner, at that. Looks like you think this is an ordinary banquet!'
Nathan chuckled lightly. “Didn't the Reclusive Families invite me to dinner tonight?”
The scarface snickered inwardly. Invitation to tea might not be simple as that, for it might mean sending you to jail. Inviting you to dinner doesn't mean it’s just dinner. Perhaps we want to send you to hell.
Of course, he didn't reveal it out loud. Grinning, he said, “Our Patriarchs are waiting for you inside. Please head in now.”
Nathan's lips curled up. “After you.”
The scarface led Nathan into the resort, past the courtyard, and finally, into the hall.
In the spacious courtyard, hundreds of armed men clad in uniforms stood on both sides of the pebbled path. When Nathan and the rest walked past the pebbled path, the armed men removed their swords at the same time.
Clang'.
The men collided their swords with the men opposite them with loud metallic clangs.
In an instant, their blades shone under the sun and a menacing aura filled the courtyard.
As the scarface led Nathan and the rest forward, swords would be lifted to allow them to walk past.
Pleased, the scarface stole glances at Nathan and his entourage to see if they had been frightened by the scene.
