As night fell, several black Cadillac SUVs were escorted by a convoy of military vehicles to the Ares Squad headquarters near the border of Volk.
Hurriedly, Isaiah and his most highly-decorated officers came out to welcome their guest, who was none other than Max, the five-starred admiral of Ariarica.
“We're honored by your presence, Admiral Max.”
Isaiah was all smiles as he invited Max and the others inside. Then, he had his subordinates serve up the finest delicacies for his honored guests.
Seated at a long table, Max, Isaiah, and the others chatted and laughed while enjoying their dinner.
“So what brought you to us, Admiral Max?” inquired Isaiah with a big smile.
“I've been visiting various countries in the Far East recently. Plus, the Eight-Nation Alliance plans to hold its second summit in Volk this year, so I decided to come here early.”
Isaiah was well aware that the Eight-Nation Alliance planned to hold its second summit in his country, and he had nothing but good things to say about it.
Since the relationship between Volk and Eurasia had been quite tense of late, holding the summit in Volk would benefit the country greatly.
Naturally, the alliance had an ulterior motive for doing that, for they wanted Volk to join them so that they could form a nine-nation alliance.
That was also part of the reason why Max visited Isaiah.
“Have you made your mind yet? About Volk participating in the summit and joining us to form the Nine-Nation Alliance," asked Max intently.
“I'm going to be frank with you, Admiral Max. To me, joining the alliance sounds like a terrific idea. However, our President is a pacifist, so he might not agree. That's why I've been trying to change his mind for the past two days,” replied Isaiah.
Max knew that the President of Volk was in charge of the country's economy while the God of War was of the army, so naturally, Isaiah was the more powerful one of the two. To put it bluntly, the God of War could stage a coup and overthrow the President anytime.
