Right then, two soldiers from the West Army blocked Max's escape. He grabbed their necks and banged their heads together.
At once, both soldiers died on the spot as their skulls shattered into pieces.
The West Army was out for blood.
They charged ahead fearlessly, even stepping over their comrades' bodies to stop Max and Isaiah so Lucas could flee the scene.
“General Ziegler, leave! We need to leave now!” Thomas yelled as he sobbed relentlessly.
Using all his strength, he dragged Lucas out of the battlefield.
All the comrades died for me...
Lucas was in a daze as his subordinates fought courageously to let him escape. He allowed Thomas to drag him away. Two hundred meters away, he got himself a mountain bike and escaped with the wounded Thomas behind him.
After driving ahead for a few hundred meters, Lucas couldn't help but look back. He saw his trusted subordinates fighting valiantly before collapsing before Max and Isaiah. Tears welled up in his eyes and trickled down his cheeks.
Late at night.
Back in Channing, the South of Eurasia.
Nathan suddenly jolted awake from a deep sleep.
He was sweating profusely after waking up from a nightmare. In his dream, Eurasia was fighting Ariarica. Blood and bodies were everywhere.
Penny, clad in her nightdress, also woke up.
She asked worriedly, “What's wrong? Did you have a nightmare?”
After slipping off the bed, she poured a glass of water for Nathan.
Nathan took a sip of water, his brows scrunched up. “I've been feeling distracted these few days as if something bad is going to happen,” he said softly.
Penny comforted him, “You're too stressed out after becoming the Chief Military Governor. Nothing will happen with you here.”
Nathan shook his head. “It might seem calm now, but in fact, danger is
everywhere.”
Suddenly, the thought of how the West Army tried to take action rashly made his expression change drastically.
