Salute To The General (Nathan Cross) novel Chapter 2509

Meanwhile, on a flight back to Channing, two fighter jets appeared on either side of the plane.

The passengers couldn't help but run to the window to look at them and exclaim in excitement.

Nathan was sitting in his seat with his brows slightly furrowed.

At the same time, the Elite Eight were dressed in civilian clothing and seated around him.

Colin, who was beside Nathan, had an awkward expression on his face.

When Nathan saw the passengers rushing to the windows to look at the jets, he asked in a puzzled tone, “Whose idea is this?”

Colin replied with a wry smile, “Without a doubt, it must be Franklin. He probably feels the need to give you a hero's welcome.”

Nathan snapped, “This is not only unnecessary but also a waste of the army's resources. He should be given a dressing down when we’re back.”

“Understood!”

By then, the flight attendants had recovered from their initial shock. Subsequently, they hurried to usher the passengers back to their seats, for the plane was about to land.

In the meantime, the two fighter jets roared past them and left.

Even though they hadn't gotten enough of the sight, the passengers returned to their seats and began to discuss excitedly. In fact, someone asked the flight attendant why the flight had fighter jets escorting it.

With an awkward expression, the flight attendant explained, “Honestly, I have no idea what’s going on. However, I heard the captain mention that there is a hero coming home on our flight. Hence, the military sent jets to show their respect.”

After being suddenly aware of the reason, everyone began to look around to see who the heroic soldier was.

Soon, everyone's gazes fell upon a seat near Nathan. There was a tall and handsome man in military fatigues seating there.

Is he the hero everyone is talking about ?

When the man realized everyone was giving him a strange look, he was visibly unsettled.

A little girl asked curiously, “Mister, are you a soldier?”

After a slight hesitation, the man readily replied, “That's right. I'm a soldier. I serve the United Nations as a Captain of one of its special forces. It's something like the Peacekeeping Forces that people usually talk about.”
