Salute To The General (Nathan Cross) novel Chapter 2676

All this while, he had thought that Nathan was an exceptional fighter but had risen through the ranks only because of Hansel.

He had even thought that, in terms of skills, he was not inferior to Nathan.

At that moment, he realized that he had made a mistake, and an outrageous one at that.

Boom!

Nathan casually tossed the thick concrete beam aside, where it crashed to the ground loudly.

He dusted his sleeves and looked at Will, calmly telling the latter, “You lost.”

Will smiled miserably. “Yes, I have lost. I'm no match for you. How ridiculous of me to have thought about replacing you as Chief Military Governor. Apparently, I think too highly of myself.”

As he spoke, mouthfuls of blood spurted out.

Nathan looked at Will with a hint of guilt in his gaze.

He had shattered all Will's internal organs, and not even the best doctors could save his life.

Will faced certain death!

However, as he looked at Will, he recalled how close they had been once upon a time. They were more than just friends, comparable to siblings.

Never had he dreamed that things would turn out this way, and he felt terrible.

Will was now coughing out blood in big mouthfuls as he was on the brink of death.

He raised his head slowly, looked at

Nathan, and asked with difficulty, “Nathan, before I die, I want to figure out one thing. Till now, you still seem totally at ease. How much of your power did you use when battling me just now?”

Debris and dust from the ceiling were raining down, and not far away, large chunks of concrete kept falling and slamming on the ground.

Colin rushed over, speaking urgently to Nathan. “Sir, we can't stay any longer! The place is collapsing. Let's go.”

Nathan took one last look at Will before he finally ordered Colin and the men, “Let's go!”

“Yes, Sir!”

Nathan, Colin, and the rest had just made it outside the building when it crumbled with a loud crash, burying Will inside.

Slowly, Nathan let out a sigh. “Will was good soldier material, but unfortunately, he made a wrong choice and went down the wrong path.”

However, Colin replied, “Chief, that man betrayed you, and he betrayed the army and our nation as well. He brought harm to our country and our citizens. He deserved to die. When he sent men to attack the Headquarters of the Chief Military Governor and the White House, he didn't think about his relationship with you in the military, nor did he think about your friendship. If this incident had ended with him and Erwin as the victors, you would have suffered a fate no better than his.”

Nathan listened and agreed, nodding his head. “Yes, you are right! Will is dead, but the mastermind, Erwin, is still alive. He has committed heinous crimes by convincing the Capital Garrison to rebel, which also resulted in the death of the President.” Pausing, he then commanded, “Immediately order the troops of the four military districts to enter the city, maintain order, appease the masses, and dispatch elite troops to surround the Holmes residence. Then, wait for me to arrive personally to deal with Erwin.”

Colin and the rest replied in unison, “Yes, Sir!”
