Salute To The General (Nathan Cross) novel Chapter 2684

Nathan frowned slightly when he saw that.

“Huh... Who is this Nelson guy? Is it even possible for someone who has been living abroad to come back and run for president? What's even crazier is the huge amount of countries that are supporting this! What does our president have to do with them?” Penny asked out of curiosity.

Nathan switched off the television as he replied calmly, “I have heard of Nelson. He used to be quite the prominent figure in the country back then, and he was competing with Hansel for the position of president. Eventually, he lost due to his extremely small amount of votes. Due to his usage of underhanded methods while running for president, Nelson later fled the country for fear of Hansel coming after him. From what I've heard, he has been living a rather decent life overseas. He managed to maintain a close relationship with the higher-ups in various other countries. I'm just surprised to hear him announce his return all of a sudden.”

Hmm... It sounds like Nelson has quite an impressive background. He seems to be quite a capable person too.

With that in mind, Penny asked, “Do you think he stands a high chance at becoming the president, then?”

Nathan flashed her a smile. “Nelson? Stand a high chance at becoming the president? What a joke!”

Penny froze for a moment upon hearing that, but quickly understood what he meant when she saw his confident expression.

Oh, I get it! Nelson may have an impressive background, but a lot has changed now! Given the current state of the world, even Hansel is reluctant to take up the position! As such, Nelson will just be making a fool out of himself if he shamelessly tries to run for president!

Suddenly, a loud and clear voice could be heard calling out to Nathan from outside.

Recognizing it as Colin's voice, Nathan responded calmly, “Come in.”

Colin then came in seconds later looking really sharp in his uniform.

“Good day, Chief Cross and Mrs.

Cross!” he shouted while saluting Nathan.

“There are no outsiders here, and we're not in public either. You can drop the formalities, Colin,” Nathan replied with a frown.

Colin let out a chuckle. “Of course.”
