Penny's face drained of all color and tears pooled in her eyes.
Finally, she clenched her teeth and gave in. "Fine. I agree, but I want to see my husband first.”
Hector knew that Nathan was locked in with Zander and his men, so there was a very good chance Nathan would already be half-dead by then.
He thought it was a good idea for Penny to see Nathan's condition for herself so she would willingly follow through with their deal.
And so, he nodded in agreement. "Alright. I'll take you to see your husband, though he might be unrecognizable at this point.”
Hector and Penny exited the waiting room and Kylie immediately ran up to them. She asked cautiously, "Penny, what did he say to you? Did he take advantage of you?"
Penny shook her head. "Your brother-in-law is in danger. We're going to see him now."
Hector led Penny and Kylie to Nathan's cell.
Henry and Chase also joined them, as they were curious to see how badly Nathan had been beaten.
Soon enough, the group arrived at the door to the holding cell.
Hector remarked in surprise, "Why is it so quiet inside? Is Nathan dead already?"
Penny's face turned white and Kylie quickly held on to her to prevent her from falling over. Even she was starting to worry about Nathan's safety.
Chase lowered his voice and instructed his men to unlock the door.
Clang!
The door opened, and everyone peered into the holding cell. They were shocked by what they found.
The floor was covered in blood, and someone was lying in a pool of it.
Penny stared at the man bathed in blood lying on the floor. "Nathan!" she cried out.
Then, a voice sounded from an unnoticed corner of the cell. "Honey, you're here," the voice spoke lazily.
Penny and the others froze in shock as they looked in the direction of the voice.
They saw a man sitting calmly on the edge of the most inner cot.
